Sooo, I have never done this before, but I was so irritated with the paint job on the Bebop action figure that I thought I'd try my hand at repainting it. For a first try and with absolutely no idea how to go about it, I'm pretty happy with how he turned outů but I've done a little more research, so maybe I'll buy another one and try some new techniques, like dry brushing and washes and removing the factory paint more, to hopefully improve the look (I certainly have enough paint left overů) His skin is too shiny, so I'm hoping I can find some sort of matte-finish I can add to those parts.
Also have a Rocksteady in the works. Sorry for the poor photos, my camera is crap.

I really like what you have done here. Even with the shiny the figure looks great, not that much needs to change. That is the skin color the figure needs to always be.

Although there is that part that you kept black right above his belt, right before the waist movement, it should be his skin color as well. That is my nitpick. So other than that great job :tsmile:

Great work, you did a perfect job. He is the worst figure in my opinion for missing paint apps from Playmates. Rocksteady is only missing minor paint apps. Its so sad tha a lot of these figures don't look like their on screen characters.

Hey, thanks so much for the compliments and the feedback! And THANK YOU for pointing out the bit above his belt, you're totally right, that needs to be skin color. I will fix it, thanks! :)

Thanks so much! I agree, his paint app is sooo disappointing. Rocksteady is much better - but still not good enough for me, which is why he's up next! ;)

I wonder if I should do this. My problem with customs is that I can't stand figures not in original condition with little spending money I have.

Repainting figures can be fun. If you can afford it, find a Hobby shop online/real for some paint (citadel,Tamaiya) and brushes and go for it. It can be risky when you only have one version of a figure, that is where the fun really is. You can see something too the end because there is a chance at having something no one else will have, an original work by you.:tsmile:
