The most sensible thing I can see Donnie doing is adding Shock ends to his Bo Staff that other crap needs to go.

Anyone else think Mickey sitting on the Tyre before it flips is a nod to the old turtle toys?

YEAH, THAT PICTURE IS WRONG. Minae Noji was called Karai in the first film, Sachs called her that when he was demonstrating to the turtles what the virus could do.

"Karai, show them."

It probably says "Iron Fist" on the back of Rocksteady's vest. But what with the blurred motion, of course a few words would get a little hazy.

There are multi colored Super Nintendo controllers as well, though. I've actually never seen the two tone buttons until recently, I don't think we got those in Norway.

He probably will when he fights the turtles, that's if he does fight the turtles in the movie.

Nice stuff, but you forgot to mention one other thing, those pieces flying around the city, came from that portal which is obviously from Dimension X, and those pieces might be part of the Technodrome.

It IS a f*cking video game! They're playing f*cking Q-BERT! :lol::lol::lol: Holy sh*t.

I can't wait for the third one, where one of them pulls a Solid Snake and springboard-jumps off of a missile onto some bad guys. Although in this one it looks like two of them dodge a f*cking tank shell from 2 feet away, so maybe they do the missile gimmick in this one already, too. :trazz:

So if the skateboards suggest that's a shot from the lair... then those lucky boys basically have a water slide in their house. :D

Ah, don't forget, with his shoulder gear gone, we also finally see Leo's tattoos that were hidden by them. (Still surprised he even has any, but... at least it's not random "regret it later" stuff.)

They actually do, from set report I posted today.

The Lair

Description: In the first movie, Shredder came in with his army of foot-clan soldiers and blew apart the Turtles’ secret hideout. That means it’s time to relocate. As Alan Ritchson (Raphael) described their new digs, it’s more analogous to the film. "I think it’s truer to sort of what I remember as a kid, for what that’s worth, but everything as a kid seems bigger and larger than life. The scope of this, as is the Turtle Van, is exponentially bigger and more interactive than before, as is the movie itself." But if you want more of a teaser, Howard said there’s a "100-foot waterslide."

Yeah...it doesn't really look like the lair from the 80s series which was a small albeit implausible family home.

You could say the staircase is reminiscent of the abandoned subway station in Secret of the Ooze, y'know that's one thing that I've always liked about the various versions which had the turtles inhabit more than one lair is that they always start off in a smaller, more homey, ever so slightly realistic lair before moving into the giant head quarters. Here they went from one giant club house to another.

One thing I did notice that does slightly resemble one of the lairs of yore is in the shot of Donatello getting his electric bo staff in the background there's hollowed section of the wall like a tunnel, it seems to resemble the recovery room from the old sewer playset....probably just a coincidence so best ignore it.

I think it breaks the fiction a little when the dirt-poor, downtrodden outcasts with no money who have to live in a filthy sewer, and have to forage and scrounge for everything they have, have an underground palatial estate that any above-ground millionaire would kill to have for a clubhouse.

Actually... that breaks the fiction way more than a little.

Normally, I agree with your posts, and I do agree about this movie mostly, but....

In 4kids, the OT, and Nick they had multiple video games systems, huge multi-screen televisions, whole walls of arcade machines, antique Japanese weapons and art probably worth a fortune, and sci-fi and advanced military equipment and vehicles probably worth millions of dollars, along with an arsenal of Donnie's inventions that'd put batman to shame. Coupled with the fact they are often allied with aliens with advanced tech, and powerful mystics with ridiculously powerful magic to provide them with things for their lair....

....yeah, the fancy clubhouse ain't that much of a stretch.

Not a huge fan of it there, either. In 2K3 it was at least just something you could go "Eh, it's a cartoon" and move past, especially since the rest of everything was mostly good. In these movies it's just one more implausible thing on top of a whole big pile of implausible things.

I'll also forever argue that many, MANY things are far more forgivable in a cartoon show than a live-action movie.
