Hmm... experienced getting pecked by one as a kid (for the record, that really kind of hurts), they are delicious, their eggs are also delicious and useful in food stuffs, those fancy, fluffy looking ones are cute, and the "Delaware Blue Hen" is my state bird. So, there ya have it.

It still baffles me that they put nipples on that bird and no one (as far as I'm aware) freaked out or tried to censor them. Even Link seems to question it. "How did this get into the US???"

As a suburbanite, though, my experiences with chickens have been few and far between. At one point though, there was a chicken at the Ft. Worth Zoo's petting pen perched on the keeper's hand and could be easily petted. My father the Ohio country boy was surprised to see one that tame...though thanks to the internet, there's more to add to that.

I basically hate all animals except cats/dogs, so to me the only good chicken is one sitting on my plate. I find animals disgusting, even when I was a kid going to zoos and you saw all the filthy animals in their pens. And those awful goats.

Chickens are best enjoyed baked, fried, or grilled. Used to live near a house that had several in their back yard, and the dang rooster would crow at all hours- stupid bird could not tell time..... I'm personally not overly fond of them unless as an entrée or when eating the unborn ones (preferably scrambled). :trazz:
