The first film really ages like a fine wine, the more you get into TMNT lore. As you grow older, read the Mirage comics, see new iterations hit, you realize how much care went into it with respect to the source material. All those adapted scenes from early issues of the comic, little character beats, what a gem.

SOTO can be viewed similarly, albeit under the scope of it's FW influence. Granted, they did include TC(G)RI, points for that. It's a damn good turtles movie, regardless of the fact it's very different tonally & had it's action neutered.

Tokka & Rahzar remain some of the best mutant designs to date.

SOTO still has some hilarious writing that I'll always love.

"COMBAT COLDCUTS!"
"Yeah -- a little TOO Raph!"
"The traditional pre-fight donut..."

Cool. I think Iíve watched SOTO more than any other movie besides Ghostbusters. I loved the first movie when I was a kid, but my VHS tape wore out, and I had SOTO on Beta if you can believe it, which was a lot more robust. As a result, it outlived the first movie, so it was my go-to Turtles fix for many years.

I still love it, even though I can admit that itís compromised. Super Shredder is awesome!

SOTO was the first TMNT film I watched.

I remember seeing that VHS at a Dollar General shortly after the 2003 series started up.

Secret of the Ooze .... wow .. simply wow. One of the most brilliant Turtles creations ever and in my opinion a more than worthworthy successor to the first movie throughout.

A Henson legacy that worked from the very first movie and a legacy that showed appreciation to the Turtles throughout without a single doubt! Wonderful movie :tsmile:

Dunno if this means anything but I found the intro for SOTO that still has the Fox 20th Century thing on it:

That's interesting, maybe cause 20th Century Fox was distributing the film over seas, these movies would have other studios as distributors when releasing outside of the US, and this was before Warner Bros bought New Line Cinema.

I love this movie and everything about it. I really wish the third movie had been exactly like this film. I still laugh like a child when Tokka gets stuck in the manhole and sly Mikey uses the opportunity to tickle his feet. It's so funny and just wouldn't have been as funny in CGI that's why that whole bit works so well.

That's funny because that is the 1990 movie and not Secret of the Ooze lol.

It would be great if it had used TCRI. To me, it all falls when replacing it with TGRI ruining what was supposed the secret of the ooze. It could still have been an accident, but the extraterrestrial orgin of one aspect that makes the ooze so cool.

This means that around this time 25 years ago, I was sitting in a theater watching this movie. I wish I still had it, but I remember the theater had a souvenir dollar bill with one of the Turtles on it.

It's a great movie. A little goofy at times but I love it.

Obviously it doesn't compare to 1, but it's fine as its own little thing.

It's my least favorite of the trilogy, but I still love the hell out of it. Some people b**** and moan about no Bebop and Rocksteady, but I'm too busy loving Tokka and Rahzar because they were awesome. And don't act like you didn't get up and dance to with the Ninja Rap. The movie costumes might have looked their best in this movie. I still have my copy on VHS that I got so many years ago.
