I wanted to share an upcoming Kickstarter that I'm very excited about from Creative Beast Studios.

Even if I wouldn't be able to buy it or contribute to the kickstarter...I would absolutely do so in a heartbeat. A floofy fully articulated, up-to-date raptor would be great to have.

Really liking what we're seeing so far. In order of preference I'm liking the Velociraptor mongoliensis, Tsaagan mangas, and lastly the Atrociraptor marshelli. Probably going to get 3 each of the Velociraptor and Tsaagan, and 1 of the Atrociraptor to start. Hopefully we can unlock those stretch goals quickly because there is a lot more cool stuff waiting to be revealed!

1/6th scaled is pretty clever, with 1/6 figures you'll get an actual scaled raptor, and with a 1/12 scale figure you get the inaccurate but Classic Jurrasic Park size.

I really hope I can squeeze one in my budget.

I'm a big dinosaur fan and I've been following these for a while and I'm not sure if I should back it or not. I love feathered dinosaurs and the idea of the kickstarter however there's enough "buts" for me to bite the bullet. First I don't like any of the colors they selected; Paleontologists have often said feathered dinos were likely very colorful, here we have "boring" colors which would look great if they were scaly dinosaurs but they just look dull in the sculpted feathers. Second reason is I already bought a much better feathered raptor with an incredible paintjob and sculpt not too long ago. The problem is that only the jaw is articulated and its stuck in a running position but in fact this KS looks like it took that statue and just added articulation, the running position is essentially the same figure as the statue only with a poorer sculpt. The third problem I have is the price, with international shipping coming out at $25 or $45 if I want all three its just too much. The size and sculpt not being 100% to my liking are small factors as well but its those previous three points that make me not want to get them.

Don't some online stores order these KS products sometimes? I remember seeing the Skeleton Warriors line on BigBadToyStore after the KS. I might just wait to see if they get it, they usually charge $10 extra but that would still be cheaper since I get combined shipping there with other stuff. I really hope that happens.

I think the colors look fine. They similar to that of a few modern predatory birds. Maybe like a Red Tailed Hawk or Lammergier. Give it a little bit more fluff and it might still be a darn gorgeous critter. The black on is incredible in particular.

He used birds for reference for each of the dinos revealed so far. Specifically an Egyptian vulture, a pesquets parrot, and I can't remember the third. Remember, not all birds are super brightly colored. The atrociraptor has some reds and greens on it.

Though scientists have been able to determine that certain theropods had feathers, they've only been able to determine actual color for one or two in the archaeopteryx group, which were black, white, and a tiny bit of red, similar to a woodpecker.

Cool video interviewing the creator and a glimpse of some stretch goals. He also goes into how he chooses different birds for inspiration on the color schemes.

Alright we are in the last 36 hours or so of this campaign. Many more stretch goals have been created and unlocked. A Zhenyuanlong in Helmeted hornbill colors, a raptor in American kestrel colors, a pyroraptor in varied thrush colors, diorama packs, and if we surge in the next day we might be able to unlock baby raptor packs and unpainted raptors.

This has been a great campaign and I can't wait to get these!
