It's about time. The current (2012-2015) x-men books have been horrible.

On noes, someone's gonna die in a comic book. Whatever shall we do???

But on a serious note, death in comics have become such a joke. I think this video best sums it up.

Xavier has died like two or three times. Wolverine died like 3 times. Cyclops died, etc.

Oh what the hell, who cares anymore.

I'm still waiting for the O5 X-Men to go back to their time instead of tainting their legacies in the present.

“No Mutant is safe from the Death of X… the end of the dream… The end is near… There won’t be a dry eye in the house….Get a front row seat to the demise of the X-Men…”

Good. Let Marvel kill them off and see how fans react.

Yeah, I don't think the books ever recovered after Morrison and Whedon's runs. Bendis (who I normally like on everything except team and event books) made things even worse bringing in the 05 and fowling up the timeline, plus he made every fan of Jean Grey hate her guts with that bitchy intrusive flip-flopping teen version.

I thought Xavier was already still dead and Red Skull had his brain in a jar...?

Wow, that's an amazing sentence right there. :tlol:

Naw f**k that All-New is the only X title book worth reading.

More of Marvel ommitting X-Men (and FF) in their products

Where have all the heroes gone? Seriously I don't even recognize them anymore. They have all been fubarred beyond belief.

The only X-Men book that shows the characters as I loved them is "X-Men '92", but sadly that book is selling miserably (and will likely be canceled) as X-fans have clearly declared loud and proud to Marvel that they would much rather keep reading about the X-Men being disgraced in the modern books, as long as they are "Holy" canon instead of reading about the X-Men when they were actually still superheroes in a forbidden "alternate universe" book. So at this point, I have very little sympathy left for all the X-fans who supposedly hate to see Marvel digging the graves of the X-Men deeper and deeper, yet they refuse to support the one X-book that has tried to bring some fun and respect back to the team, all because they foolishly believe it is illegal to support imaginary characters in one universe if it is not "really happening".

This. Fans being particular about the corrupted, nasty, mean-spirited 616 being the "real" universe speaks volumes about their character. I've found the best things about Marvel lately to be AUs (ASM newspaper strip, ASM: Renew Your Vows, X-Men '92, Spider-Girl, Web Warriors)

The thing is, with so many time travel retcons 616 has gone through, that one may as well be an alternate universe anyway posing as the traditional one.

Yep, you are right. It is very unfortunate and unfair that so many alternate titles go unappreciated by so-called "fans" when here the 616 is such a disgraced mess right now. I dont understand the mind set of fans believing that if it doesnt take place in the 616 universe, it is totally not worth reading. The 616 is no more "real" than the alternate universe.

Working on Death of X will be DC's Aaron Kuder, now an exclusive member of the Marvel roster

Personally, I'm enjoying the insanity that is X-Men '92. I don't follow the main Big Two titles though.
