Prince was perhaps the best of his era, or Jackson. Hard to tell, since they lasted nearly forever.

I guess April 21 is other day the music died in reference to the crash that took Holly, Bopper, and Valens.

It's like George RR Martin is writing 2016, not GoT... :ohwell:

As we previously reported, it was believed that days before his death, Prince was treated for a possible overdose. TMZ has confirmed this and revealed that the drug he overdosed on was Percocet. Percocet is a painkiller that combines acetaminophen and oxycodone (an opiod). It is said to be “highly addictive”. He was taking the drug for a hip problem (he had corrective surgery for his hips in 2010), but reportedly took too many back on April 15th, which caused his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois. When he landed, he went to the hospital and received a “save shot,” which is typically used in order to counter the effects of an opiate (like Percocet). Doctors advised Prince to stay in the hospital for twenty-four hours, but when he couldn’t get a private room, he left after being there for three hours.

I was hoping it was not an overdose, but it looks like it could be from painkillers.

It will be interesting to see the fate of his music. He hated streaming so yet said he wanted someone to release the songs he does not after he is gone. As long as Prince gets his specific wish either way.

Looking for Prince tunes I ran across this...It is not Bat Dance, but song is catchy. What is it?

Prince Died Of Opioid Overdose (http://411mania.com/music/prince-died-of-opioid-overdose/)

UPDATE: According to TMZ, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has determined that Prince overdosed Fentanyl. Fentanyl is a strong synthetic opiate that is more potent than morphine, and often used on cancer patients in severe pain or on patients who have developed a tolerance to less powerful opiates such as Percocet and morphine. The report also stated that no “other significant conditions” led to his death, which rules out the rumors that Prince was suffering from HIV or AIDS. At the time of his death, Prince weight in at 112 pounds and was 5’3’ tall.

ORIGINAL: TMZ reports that a report from the medical examiner’s toxicology report on Prince lists the singer’s cause of death as an “opioid overdose.” It was previously reported that Prince nearly died from a Percocet overdose six days before his death. It forced an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois and Prince had to receive a “save” shot. Percocet is an opioid. It’s a combination of oxycodone and acetaminophen. The report didn’t specify what opiod Prince had in his system.
