Yahoo! reported his family gathered at his bedside as things looked bleak so it was expected just not this quick. Respiratory failure it seems to be the cause. Cassius Clay even if playing a character to sell tickets was the greatest of his sport.

It will not take long for their next bout in Heaven.

Guess I should break out my copy of Superman vs Muhammad Ali soon.

Wow, weird. For some reason I had no idea he was still alive and thought he died years ago.

So long champ. I don't regret losing a single second of the hours and hours I've spent watching your old fights and interviews. Especially with Howard Cossell. In my mind, you will forever be talking trash and knocking out George Foreman when pretty much everyone else had written you off.

Ah, the Olympics. I'll never forget this memorable moment; R.I.P. Mr. Ali. You were indeed "The Greatest"

RIP, champ, one of the greats of boxing up there with Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Jack Johnson, Ray Robinson, Jack Dempsey, and Harry Greb. He change boxing, and really brought it back in the limelight that was not seen since the heyday of Jack Dempsey.

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
Not only did you change the game, you changed the industry
You knocked down titans, and exhausted beasts
Barely broke a sweat, to say the least

You shook up the world, in and out the ring
Started off as a prince, re-christened as a king
The inventor of confidence, proclaiming you can't be beat
With a smile on your face, and a shimmy of your feet

From Liston to Holmes, to Foreman and Smokin' Joe
You held that belt high, and never let it go
Never mind not going to war, when the real war was within
You got knocked down plenty times, only to rise up again

Not even Parkinson's could stop you, you battled for victory
Punching and dodging your way into history
So fast, so pretty, so full of bliss
Making chumps mad every time they miss

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
Death won't even stop you, and that's a decree
The Greatest Of All Time, G-O-A-T
Rest In Power, Cassius Clay, aka... Muhammad Ali.

Same!

Still, it's a shame.

Never saw him in the ring since I'm no boxing fan, so whenever his name comes up this interview of him is what springs to my mind:

So sad. He was on life support according to the news yesterday. Did they take him off, I wonder? A terrible loss to the world of sports and especially boxing. He will be remembered.

They actually considered Ali to play Superman in what became the Richard Donner classic.

What's the storyline of that comic book with Muhammed Ali and Superman boxing each other?

Very saddened to learn of his passing. A true pioneer, icon and legend! RIP and I know he's floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee in heaven! Maybe even wrestling/boxing Gorilla Monsoon!

Gorilla will just pick him up and spin him around again. LOL! Gorilla was the man. Him and The Brain together is just so golden it can never be topped. Poor old Bobby Heenan is in terrible shape. He literally has a new bottom half of his face and can't speak at all anymore. I saw a video of him signing stuff at an ECW show the other day and it was just so pitiful. Ironic that two great talkers like Ali and Heenan lost their ability to speak. They could both talk butts right in to seats. Then Ali could actually back up what he said he was gonna do.

Couldn't agree more man, totally.
