In a '90s nostalgia marketing campaign, Pepsi Co has announced that their aspartame-sweetened clear soda Crystal Pepsi will be returning to shelves for a limited time starting July 7 in Canada and July 8 in the U.S. Alongside with its reinstatement, it was announced that Crystal Pepsi would be getting its own video game, and no, it's not Pepsiman 2: The Return Of The Crystal.

Utilizing mechanics from the classic educational game The Oregon Trail, the game will be titled The Crystal Pepsi Trail and follow a cross-country journey as you collect as much '90s memorabilia as you can get your hands on, including tamagotchis and furbies. In the screenshot from its trailer above, we can see poor AJ's tamagotchi "died of dysentery." Pepsi Co is working on the game with educational publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, which owns the rights to The Oregon Trail.

Last December, Crystal Pepsi reappeared briefly in an online sweepstakes, but this will be the first time the drink will be available for purchase nationwide since it was taken off shelves in 1993. You can check out the trailer for the game below.

The soda will be available for purchase for approximately 8 weeks, and you will be able to play The Crystal Pepsi Trail on July 7 on a website not yet known. Whoomp, there it is.

This could either be the greatest game ever or the worst thing in existence. Im hoping for the former.

Maybe don't make threads for any little thing.

I currently work for a Pepsi carrying franchise and, I'm curious to see if the franchise will re-introduce the soda, and if the customers will actually buy it.
