So, this has 30 games, a controller that can be used for Virtual Console games, and is only $60! Plugs into your TV by HDMI cables. Looks pretty great, especially for the price! These games are $2 a piece, compared to $5 on the Virtual Console. I'll pick this up on November 11 when it releases!

You can get an original NES with a lot of games plus two controllers and a zapper for $60.

Do not want.

Where can you find this? Do you have a link?

Here's one for 69.99. I've seen cheaper on Craigslist too. Games can go for like a dollar to five bucks most of the time at a thrift shop.

Also, the NES by itself can go for as low as $30.

Honestly, I don't trust eBay for that kind of stuff. I only buy cheap action figures from there.

Well it could also be flea markets, yard sales, etc. But I can see how this version is more convenient.

Yes. Plus my TV only has HDMI output, which is what this uses.

It's certainly not a bad value if you don't have a NES and want to dive into some great classic games. I've got most of the originals listed here already, so I'll pass, but I like that they're doing this. I've said for years that Nintendo should reproduce the NES console on the cheap, and this is the next best thing. And based on my Facebook feed the day it was announced, there should be a lot of interest.

I'm mostly excited about the controller, though. I'll have to pick that up for Virtual Console NES games.

Ah, that's a problem too.

I think they should have allows the capability to play your own game paks on it like the genesis Sega rereleased a while ago.

Yes, or just what Bry said, rerelease the NES altogether. But with HDMI ports and improved sound perhaps.

The sound on mine was pretty good, the virtual console games are a little fuzzy compared to the real thing.

Yeah the quality is more crisp and clear on the NES. Also, virtual console make the games really faded and puts kinda dark tint on the games. For example, an orange on the original looks more brown on the virtual console.

And now Wisdom Tree Games wants to capitalize on the retro-clone console market!

I'd be more stoked for a "Super NES Classic Edition."

Interesting idea, though.

A bunch of these games can already be found on the eShop on the Wii U.

For $5 a game, and these are $2 a game.

$5 a game still isnt bad. I'd only buy this just for the controller.

I'd suggest buying the controller separate. Nintendo are selling them for $10.

I lucked out six years ago when I scored an NES Action Set that still SMELLED brand new even though it wasn't. I was going to just keep its box at first so I could store my own system, but I couldn't bring myself to give it up anymore. It had all the original parts, including those two ohm connectors. It still had all of its paperwork except for one of the manuals, but I can't remember if it was the one for the console or the zapper. It even still had the warranty and the same Nintendo Power subscription form that came with my system when I first got it in 1989.
Really? I've heard the sound isn't the best on NES.

Not even with an A/V cable?

I'd be more stoked for a "Super NES Classic Edition."

I already said this in the main Nintendo thread, but I've got my money on that happening.

30 games at 5 dollars each is 150. 2 dollars each is alot more appealing.

Well 30 dollars for a NES, one you know will 100% work
30 games for 1 dollar a piece, all you know is working properly
=
60

Looks kinda of small. Sure that thing can fit the old Nes games?

It doesn't. It was never supposed to. The "cartridge slot" is just molding.

I wish the controller were USB or bluetooth and not the stupid Wii plug.

I'm really excited for this. I've been hoping that Nintendo would put out something like this. My brother in law bought the Sega version (https://www.amazon.com/Sega-Genesis-AtGames-Classic-Game-Console/dp/B0111WVVLM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1469037060&sr=8-2) for my mom's house. The 30 games that were chosen left out quite a few games that I would like to have seen. For example, it would've been really cool if it could've featured TMNT 2: The Arcade Game. Granted I did unlock the original TMNT arcade game on the Playstation 2 TMNT 2:Battle Nexus game. But I prefer the Nintendo version more than the actual arcade version that's featured in the Playstation game.

Wish I could have a NES, but my TV is only HDMI. A modded NES would probably be hella expensive..

Or you could get an av-hdmi converter for 8 bucks.

Literally all these games are on the virtual console, so I have no reason to buy this. For those of you who own most of these games you're essentially just buying a plastic box that looks nostalgic.

I seriously can't justify buying this because I own every single game on it in some form or another.

Nintendo just posted a video on the Mini NES Console, it's gonna cost $59.99

This book from Prima Games sounds like a cool accompaniment to the NES Classic.

Is there a list of games? The list depends on if it is worth the purchase. Honestly, I really just want Manhattan Project dusted off. Other than that just a couple of others would make it the icing on the cake.

If you're referring to the list of games, there are some third-party ones there.

I guess I should consider myself lucky that I actually got one of these. I had spent about a month leading up to Christmas searching desperately for one. I eventually started using "brickseek"(http://brickseek.com/target-inventory-checker/?sku=207-29-0180) to find it. And then I realized that the only way to actually find one on there is to look in the middle of night to see which Target store would actually have it in stock that day. Then comes going and waiting in line in front of Target for hours. I finally got mine a couple of days before Christmas. There's about 5-10 games that I really wish would've been included with the system that aren't, but it's still definitely worth the $60 retail price.
