I bought 1440p monitor 3 weeks ago (as the leader of the foot clan i have to keep upgrading my pc ofthen to be able to use it to organize the foot clan operations better). And finaly i bought a 2560x1440 monior that made all games programs e.t.c look mch better than the 1080p monitor i had. BUT! Since movies and tv shows are still made in 1080p that a big issue for evryone who buys a 1440p or 4k monitor/tv as we are forced to watch them on 1080p instead of our native monitor resolution. That why i would like to know are there any plans to start making the episodes in these high resolutions too since more and more people are getting 1440p and 4k monitors/tvs or will continue be 720p and 1080p only?

First of all, your 1440p monitor is already obsolete on arrival. People are already buying 4K/2160p or even 5K/2880p monitors since last year. Future TV shows, Blu-ray, console games, streaming media (you name it) are skipping 1440p entirely and jumping straight to 2160p one after another.

Second, you're asking this in a forum (not even in the right section I'd say) where no Nickelodeon staff is present here? (not that they'll answer you if they were here)

Third, you expect your foot clan story to be legit? Don't get me started...

First i bought 1440p because my current pc is not powerful enough for 4k but can run all games max settings 1440p and allso all programs too. I saw big improvement compared to 1080p monitor that i had till then. 4K is only for high end computers i will buy 4k after my next pc upgrade. Also you know that most pc gamers and most peope in general are still on 1080p and not 1440p or 4k, right?
Second yes i have seen some Nickelodeon stuff members posting here like TMNT Master which means that they check and read the forum
And third you must believe me i am the true SHREDDER

You're monitor is ****.

8k is coming in a year, and you're talking 2.5k? a resolution no one uses?

You bought old tech kid, but you can watch some compressed 1440p content, right now, on youtube.

To properly answer your question, 4k blu-ray's are hitting the shelves this year, but you'll need a 4k monitor and player.

* Gives out a bunch of useless info
* Still thinks he's Shredder

I don't know about you guys but I'm still trying to connect these points... Then again its only been a few seconds... is there anything else I'm missing?

Eventually we will start seeing more content in 4k quality, but the problem with that is the amount of bandwidth required to show 4k, on top of that the file sizes will be a couple of Gigs more.

Lol, this is retarded.

It's like saying you're getting a keg of beer out of a can.
You can't see 4K on 2.5k. It's impossible.

That why most shows ares still on 1080p because 4k is expensive. But since Nickelodeon is a very big and powerful company they must have the resources needed to make the show 4k.

Well compared to 1080p it is a good upgrade. I bought it mainly for gaming . Also a 4k blue ray movie or tv show can work on 1440p. The PC player(VLC or Windows player) is just reducing the resolution to 1440p or 1080p(depending on what monitor you have). 1440P looks much better than 1080p but not so much difference compared to 4k.

Nickelodeon probably doesn't have the masters in 4K. Maybe 2K at most. Either way, as others have said, you're an idiot.

How clueless are you? Do you think there's a program that can "make it 4K" with the click of a mouse?

a couple of Gigs more.

Mmm, a bit more than that. They're probably about double the size of a film on a normal Blu-ray disc.

The internet is amazing. It has all the answers. Google knows all...

4k storage means storing more than just the "final" in 4K. It means all the Render passes, all the title cards, everything, is 4k, it's not just a question of getting it broadcast.

Like TheSkeletonMan939 said, it's not the click of a mouse.

And while I get that this dude is excited about his new monitors, and that's cool, just, maybe the way you were announcing it made you sound like a smug jerk. If he'd just said, Hey guys, I finally bought an upgraded monitor, it's great, better resolution! I don't think there would have been this kind of negativity...

As i said i found that 4k movies and tv shows will run on 1440p on a 1440p monitor. They will look much better than 1080p shows but not as good as on a 4k monitor/tv. The question now is will they start making it also 4k or will they continue forcing evryone who has a 4k or 1440p monitor to watch it on 1080p because they are too lazy to make 4k version of it too?

TheSkeletonMan939
08-02-2016, 06:20 AM
It's not based on 'laziness'.
It'd based on what they think demand is for certain formats. People still buy DVDs. Lots of people - I'd wager most people - do not have a Blu-ray player in their home. Companies know that most people don't know or care about the differences between BD and DVD.
So, with this in mind, do you really think that people would purchase 4K copies of the show? Hell, Nickelodeon hasn't even provided a Blu-ray release. Just DVDs, because they sell.
For every TMNT fan with a 4K monitor like you, there are a thousand children who just want whatever can get the turtles on the screen: the DVD is good enough for them.

Personally, I think the Nick show wouldn't have any improvement in 4K. None of the models have detailed textures.

You know who some of the most foolish people in the world are? The people who rush out and buy the hip new thing without checking out to see if it's worth it or not. They waste their time and money only to be disappointed with their crappy new gadget.
You bought a 4K monitor and never enjoy it because you bitch about how nothing is tailored to your demands for incredibly high quality. Stop whining and get some perspective on things. It's just not healthy.

i enjoy it a lot in gaming as it made huge improvement compared to 1080p. But right now most people as you say still buy DVD movies. It is mostly gamers who buy 4K or 1440p monitors to enjoy games with the best graphics possible. If all movies and tv shows were coming on 1440p and 4k too just like all new games support 1440p and 4k then we wouldnt have such issues. I already checked itto see if it is worth or not before buy. I saw this monitor running on a high end pc's in game shops and then i did comparision with the monitor that i had and decided that yes it was worth to buy it . I dint rush to buy it jusit because people say that these high resolution monitors(1440p-4k) are great. Or not because i already knew that my pc can run all games and programs and 2560x1440. But because after i tested these monitors i realiazed that they realy look much better in games and even in general daily pc use compared to what i had. I realy hope that sooner or later Nickelodoen will start making it on 4k too

Yes, higher resolution is much better. If you're impressed by that you should see an 8k (76804320) or 4320p monitor running 120hrtz.

Enjoy your new monitor.

Japan is already broadcasting the Olympics at 8K resolution (http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2016/08/worlds-first-8k-tv-broadcasts-begin-for-rio-olympics/), but of course you'll need to have one of those $130,000 8K TV on sale since last year (https://www.engadget.com/2015/09/15/8k-sharp-japan/) to begin with :D

Saw a 4K set for less than a G the other day...
