View Full Version : Earbuds or Headphones?

I prefer earbuds. They are more comfortable and convenient. Also, headphones make my hair all screwed up after I'm done with them. And some headphones don't even fit my head.

For everyday listening headphones, for working out and stuff like that, I would use earbuds.

Headphones. Haven't worn earbuds for some years now. They just make your ears hurt quickly. And I don't feel the need to listen to music while working out or when I'm walking down the street.

Headphones. Earbuds dont really do well when it comes to blocking out noise.

Another for headphones. I can't stand having things in my ear, and earbuds are never loud enough anyway. I have bluetooth headphones that I absolutely adore and I wear them almost everywhere.

I honestly thought earbuds would be more popular. Headphones are too bulky.

Headphones. Earbuds hurt my ears, don't find them comfortable at all.

Definitely headphones. I have had so many ear problems lately that I never want to use earbuds. I think headphones are better for the ear.

Earbuds make my ears sting if I keep them in for more than, I dunno, a few songs or so. I have a pair I keep around anyway though in case my headphones die [they never have, they hold a charge for days] and for portability, though, since my headphones won't fit in my sunglasses case like my earbuds do.

I use earbuds but they're probably super bad for your ears. I'd like to switch to headphones sometime soon though.

Buds when I'm commuting, phones when I'm working or editing.

All the comments about earbuds hurting other peoples' ears too [I thought I was just having sensory sensitivity] makes me wonder if they don't negatively affect the ear moreso than regular headphones. Pain tends to be a sign of "stop doing that thing because it's harmful".

Interesting, earbuds have never hurt my ears.

Earbuds for me, every single time.

Earbuds gave me too much trouble and discomfort, especially after my history of infections.

Soft ones with bangin' audio quality.

Earbuds are indeed bad for you of course normal headphones can be bad for you too but in general they're more dangerous. I only use them when I run since they're bluetooth and I have no problems dealing with a cable or anything else. If it's really noisy then yeah earbuds are the way to go but I avoid them to not hurt my hearing too much.

Headphones are better all around, at home you can get no better sound if you have a nice pair. Outside I like to wear those headphones that don't have the head part, they're very comfortable, work like earbuds without the cons. And even before those exited back in the 90s you had the "neck" headphones or whatever they were called to not "mess" with your hairdo. Game changers back then, everyone had them along with their 10-second anti-skip discman's.

earbuds - these currently ones have surprisingly lasted quite a long time without breaking.
