View Full Version : TMNT Party Wagon

The moment I saw this wagon nostalgia triggered in. I loved TMNT as a child, so I saw an opportunity to take something dear from my childhood to my adulthood. Here it is, I bring you my take on the modern Party Wagon. For this I made my custom water decal designs. I didnt want to use the factory decals in anything but the front lights. The rest of them I designed them and adapted to make thinner and so that my custom paint work would not get loose. I made some of the decals with white background (Venus) and others in clear background (all foot related ones). I painted all black and put colors over it so that i would obtain dark and bright tones and used that also for some of my dirt, since in my mind the Party Wagon is driven through sewers so it cannot be pristine. I added some rust and plenty of metals in my design. Rocket functionality was not removed but is not pictured since this is not intended to be a toy anymore. The interior is plain black given that this version was intended to be for my NECA turtles, so its a little bit small for them to fit all in the inside. One turtle can be fit in the driver's seat with lots of work, but I didnt mean to do it, since forcing it in could damage the paint work. I rather wanted this to be a display only to complement the NECA turtles instead. I loved doing this project more than many others since it had lots of nostalgic in it!

Looks really good!

But maybe dirty up the white on the front, it looks weirdly clean and unbeaten compared to the rest of the vehicle.

Yeah, the hite does clash a bit being so clean, but it's no way detrimental to the overall appearance. This looks great!

I used the factory Venus sticker, but I cut it out to avoid the background which would clash with the cleaner yellow of the plastic van.

Unfortunately, I messed up part of the circle border.

SO good, I really want to address the white front bumper on mine as it looks so out of place - but as i have the wave 1 Nick turtles I was going to paint as close to that as I can.
Watch this space - i hope i may be able to post mine here one day
