So I was looking at some TMNT cover art, and thinking if I could narrow down my top 3 favorite covers. Truth is, I can't. Here are some of my contender's so far. What are yours?

- V1 TMNT 2 3rd Print by Richard Corben

- V1 TMNT 4 2nd Print by Michael Dooney

- IDW TMNT Micro Leo by Sophie Campbell

- TMNT 25th Anniversary by Kevin Eastman

I say leave the original #1 out of the poll and here's my top 3:

1. Dooney's take on the Mirage #4 you posted above.

2. Dooney's poster for the first issue of the TMNT Magazine from Summer 1990, which I think also had a seperate release as a TMNT movie poster:

3. The "Heroes in a Half Shell" VHS cover:

Honorable Mentions:
Archie TMNT #11

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures #11 (https://flic.kr/p/yNmBze) by oldmanwinters (https://www.flickr.com/photos/22047800@N07/), on Flickr

Berger's wrap-around (not pictured here) cover for Volume 1, #45. Maybe my favorite image of Leatherhead:
http://tmntentity.blogspot.com/2009/11/tmnt-vol-1-45.html

Dooney's box art for TMNTIII: The Manhattan Project. Really wish I could see the full layout of this someday.

But who knows, there are so many... my list might be different tomorrow.

Campbell's idw #29 cover
Bode/Eastman #32 Egyptian cover
Dooney #4
Corben #33

For me, the Campbell is #1, the other 3 are interchangeable

I wonder who owns that Dooney #4 and what it would go for on the open market. For some strange reason I feel like I heard that it was gifted to Pete...but I'm not sure.

You are correct sir. I talked to Dooney about it, and he said Pete does own it. On the open market, especially considering today's prices, I would say at least $20k.

Man, when it finally sells one day, I'll be very curious to know how much it brings. If Laird or his family ever decides to part with it, I hope it's through a charity auction or something that could raise a bunch of money for a good cause. Such a historic piece of TMNT art, maybe the second most famous drawing besides the #1 cover.

Oh, yeah, all of those are classics that could replace most of the items on my earlier on any given day!

The 4th and 5th reprints of #1 both featured great cover art.

So many great comic covers, but these 2 are definitely at the top of my list (and want list as well!) 3rd cover is tough to pin down... Need to think on that a bit.

These are some of my favorites. Honestly, I never read any of these beyond the synopses and previews, but they have always made a strong impression on me.

Image TMNT Vol. 3 #7
http://www.miragelicensing.com/comics/image/07/cover.jpg
Tales of the TMNT Vol. 2 #1http://www.miragelicensing.com/comics/mirage/talesvol2/01/cover.jpg Tales of the TMNT Vol.2 #11http://www.miragelicensing.com/comics/mirage/talesvol2/11/cover.jpg I don't know exactly why I chose the Tales of the TMNT Vol. 2 #11 one. I guess I just like the the way the red background, the red bandanna, and the black suits of the ninjas clash with each other.

I really like IDW TMNT #8 as well. It gives off a very strong 4Kids TMNT vibe, in my opinion.

This is probably my favorite, love Eastman and Laird doing the Aliens homage.

Because I'm unapologetic with my love for Jack Kirby.

I confess I didn't know that was a Hulk homage. I just thought it was a classical reference to Atlas holding up the world.

This is the original cover. Laird mirrored the image.
