View Full Version : What do you spend your extra money on after bills/food?

So when you have extra cash lying around after paying the usual bills/food/clothes/gas, etc....what do you spend it on?

I've stopped buying blu-rays/DVDs because you can watch everything online. I don't buy any comics outside of TMNT and Usagi. I no longer buy TMNT action figures either.

All I really spend money on is videogames and clothes every so often. So most of my money just gets saved away in the bank for a fateful day.

Star Wars figures, Marvel Legends, whatever else I clamor for at the moment

Video games and going to the movies, pretty much. And eating out.

I forgot about the theaters, I usually only see 3-4 movies a year though. This year being an exception because of all the comic book movies:

- Deadpool
- Captain America Civil War
- X-men Apocalypse
- Batman Vs. Superman
- TMNT II
- Suicide Squad
- Star Trek
- Star Wars: Rogue One

Goddamn, I don't think I've ever seen 8 movies in a single year before.

Usually my extra money goes to La-La Land Records.

I spend it on dvds, action figures/dollhouse stuff for my TMNT pics, a few comics, and the occasional treat like going to the movies or getting ice cream at a real ice cream shop.

I only tend to see action or comic book movies in theaters, so I don't see much otherwise.

I never go to the movies to see drama, horror or comedies.

Eating out and non-food groceries(toilet paper, napkins, etc). Occasionally I'll buy a game.

Mexico is pretty big. II'm sure there's lots of places for him to travel to there. Not to mention he can travel to the USA if he lives near the border.

Or maybe you're just asking where to in specific does he travel, but since you're CyberCubed, I'm never really sure lol

I use my per diem cash for booze, but my girlfriend takes all of my extra paycheck money. I have enough left over for a couple of monthly trips to the comic store.

Does your girlfriend work? Why would she need your money?

Who said she needed it?

Have you never been in a relationship?

He said this:

but my girlfriend takes all of my extra paycheck money

Making it sound like she always takes the rest of his money every week. I understand sharing money, but this implies she does it every time.

People often still have separate bank accounts when they're young.

I just assumed he was putting some snark into his statement. The dude does have a blackbelt in sarcasm...

There's money after bills and food?

Whatever leftovers goes to mostly toys, video games, D&D stuff and the occasional clothing article.

Believe me, I ask some questions even though I already know the answers! :tlol:

I dont understand this "extra money" concept either. :tlol:

Mostly drawing supplies, comics, beer, and pawn shop movie/game finds -- you'd be surprised how many new movies get traded in a few weeks after release and sell for a fraction of the price. I'll get some toys here and there, though I'm running out of space for that stuff.

But I've cut back on a lot of unnecessary expenses lately to focus on getting my finances in order. I lost my job a year or so ago and my current/temporary one pays a lot less (though it's also a lot more stressful). :tgrumble: That was a tough adjustment.

Extra money? I don't understand that concept anymore. :P

With the old job, though, I'd hang out...look for retro things of interest.

I don't drink alcohol, so I guess I save a lot of money? Sounds to me like some of you blow a huge portion of your money on drinks. Makes me wonder how do you guys budget it?

My extra money go towards medical expenses.

I usually save my extra money for retirement.

But sometimes I buy video games and toys. I just got a Wii U so I'll be buying some new video games.
