Yesterday I picked up a neat comic that I needed.

I don't have any of the TMNT Adventures stuff, I just haven't gotten around to it to be honest. I think I bought the Half Shell thing? I don't know maybe you guys could help me.

It's published by Random House on the spine. It is a thicker book, like a mini trade.

Yeah now that I'm looking at the inside cover and all that I see the Heroes in a Half Shell title on the first page. It says it was published under 1, 2, and 3 of TMNT Adventures, and this one is a 6th printing. Has a 1988 Copyright.

I think the first page is the opening from the cartoon? I guess what I'm trying to ask is just more info on this as I had at one time the TMNT adventures 1 in a 3 issue set.

This is that? But in a small trade? At the end of issue 1 or "chapter 1" there's a maze and then chapter 2 begins. I don't see a cover for #1?

Just curious as if this is the true start to the TMNT Adventures as I think it might be. It ran 72 issues I believe and this is 1-3 of that?

Or is this 1-3 and then there's an actual 1-72 and there's actually 75 in total? Sorry bros this has me ****ed up.

Is this what you're looking at? (http://www.comiccollectorlive.com/LiveData/Issue.aspx?id=6528dab9-d581-41c1-8e8d-46ab78bc467f)

In 1988, Random House collected the TMNT Adventures 3-issue miniseries with an accompanying audio tape.

Regarding TMNT Adventures, it premiered as a 3-issue miniseries that adapted the first 5 episodes of the cartoon. It was successful, so Archie relaunched it as an ongoing series starting with a new #1. That's the TMNT Adventures that ran for 72 issues.

Hope that helps!

Yes that is what I have. Exactly this. Thanks!

Love your blog BTW

So the new #1 is all new stuff not from the cartoon? But inspired by it I guess?

And that makes 1-3, then 1-72 for 75 total issues?

So far as I know, Random House released three collections of Archie TMNT Adventures installments with audio tapes:
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Txtwl8IkIow) (collecting the 3-issue "Heroes in a Half Shell" mini-series)
"Return of the Shredder" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-UO2qa7c6E) (collecting TMNTA ongoing #1-2)
"Intergalactic Wrestling" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MLvFOxtzdg) (collecting TMNTA #5-8 )

Love how the voice actor for Krang does a Frank Welker "Dr. Claw" rip-off. I have no idea what's up with Shredder's British-accent though.

Archie put together their own 64-page collection of the 3-issue Mighty Mutanimals mini-series that closely resembled the format of the Random House collections, but I don't think it ever came with a cassette tape:
"TMNT Presents: Mighty Mutanimals: Invasion from Space"

For the ongoing, issues #1-4 were still episode adaptations. The original material doesn't start until #5.

But yeah, the TMNT Adventures mini was 3 issues and the ongoing was 72, so it's 75 issues if you combine them.

And boy does it sure deviate from the cartoon - in a good way. Enjoy!
