Hello everyone,

I just bought my first set of Dark Horse minis for tmnt. I bought the terror bears set. Are all of these things metal and what characters are there? I saw no other thread about them besides the occasional person finding them in the wild.

They do look amazing :O

I have a small collection of them, both on card and loose.
I really should get them painted...

As for the metal, they're made of lead.

They're based on the Palladium Role Playing game. They were released in 3 waves. I made this checklist a few years back:

1st style packaging= baggie stapled to flimsy paper (1 set released)
#142 Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael

2nd style packaging= "Dark Horse Miniatures" packaging (6 sets released; 5 new)
#142 Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael (re-release)
#166 Splinter, Shredder, 4 Mousers
#173 Fugitoid, Casey Jones, Triceraton
#174 Four Foot Soldiers
#175 Two Triceratons & Flying Harness
#176 Four Turtles with Energy Weapons

3rd style packaging= "TMNT" packaging (13 sets released; 7 new, plus 4 variations)
#142 Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael (re-release)
#166 Splinter, Shredder, 4 Mousers (re-release)
#173 Fugitoid, Casey Jones, Triceraton (re-release)
#174 Four Foot Soldiers (re-release)
#175 Two Triceratons & Flying Harness (re-release)
#176 Four Turtles with Energy Weapons (re-release)
#177 Terror Bears
#178 Player Characters
#179 Dr. Feral & Henchmen

Large Turtles (upright):
#7501 Leonardo
#7502 Michelangelo
#7503 Donatello
#7504 Raphael

Large Turtles (on side):

I have the 4 TMNT, Splinter, Mousers, Casey, Shredder, The Terror Bears, Fugitoid and a Triceraton.

I'm about 90% done on the TMNT, Splinter and Shredder (promised to do them months ago on here but have been too busy to paint).

Here's what I've got finished:

I would love to get these (I'm a big miniatures collector as well) but they're so expensive on ebay.

I never liked how the Triceration was practically in his undies

It's accurate, though-

These minis are a challenge, being in true 25mm scale.
My thing has always been 80's/early 90's Citadel/Warhammer miniatures and it's a lot tougher trying to get these Dark Horse minis to look the part.

The Triceraton had HORRID amounts of "flash" on him, worst I've ever seen on a mini...the piece was the size of his head and globbed around the inside of his calves- there was some serious cutting, scraping and filing.
He's both terrible and really awesome, it doesn't show in the picture but the majority of the detail on this mini is in his head frill thing, and in the flesh he looks really cool around there with all the recesses.

Casey Jones comes with his hands empty, and you're supplied with a selection of weapons to equip him with.
I was tempted to arm him with two baseball bats, but had to include the iconic hockey stick.
A nice little touch, though it's very fiddly trying to get them in there securely.

I love how tiny they are lol I wish I knew they were smaller than pennies when I first ordered them but oh well. I do have the urge to wash my hands every single time I see them though. Pesky lead...

Okay, bases aren't finalised (thinking of making a diorama) but here's the TMNT:

Awesome job, Walkabout. These minis are great and I'd love to see Feral or the Terror Bears painted.

Thanks a bunch people.

Snake, I have The Terror Bears but unfortunately no Dr Feral/Henchman or player characters (or Foot Ninjas for that matter)...though I'd love to get my mits on them of course.

The Bears were my first acquisition, I have them undercoated but am a bit lost on how to paint them-'the one reference being the black and white pic from the RPG.

Just a (TMNT RPG related) thought, isn't it funny the Sparrow Hawks have never seen use in other incarnations of the TMNT????

Anyway, here's Master Splinter

You know what would look cool with the terror bears? The same color schemes as the Dream Beavers from the Nick show.

Yes it's certainly very tempting and as soon as I saw the Beavers I thought of that- sort of wanting to keep everything Mirage-ish with a hint of the original toys thrown in though.

I have a Shadowrun mini that will be an April proxy, but it's probably the Mousers that will be next up.
