View Full Version : Human Baxter merchandise from 1987 series?

Hi, I've been wondering if there has ever been any merchandise released in any country of 1987 Baxter in his human form, either while the series was running or in the present day. I've only ever seen Baxter the Fly merchandise, including the retro figure and a shirt that K-Mart is selling. Storybooks, figures, shirts, anything at all with human Baxter would be of more interest to me. I wish that there had been more episodes with him as a human; I think they could have done more with him in that form.

he appears in human form in a few Archie issues and 1 turtles storybook.

I think there was one for the Heroclix, but I haven't seen much of them.

Incorrect. He appeared as Baxter the fly in heroclix form. He appeared in human form in three video TMNT II: The Arcade Game, Hyperstone Heist (the sprite was ripped right from TAG), and Manhattan Missions.

He appeared in TMNT Adventures (Archie) in #3,4,42 (cameo).

In pre-mutation form he appears in episodes #3,6-11,82 (Barney Stockman the identical twin brother with orange opposed to yellowish blonde hair)

What is the storybook?

Like the other people said, just the other media. I'm sure someone could custom make an action figure of him. I really like the 2 human Baxter figures from the 2000s and later.

What is the storybook?

Unless Super Curry Max knows of another book, The Return of Shredder and Incredible Shrinking Turtles which was adapted from the sixth and seventh episodes and also adapted into TMNT Adventures #3 and #4 respectively.

As a side note Donatello Micro#1 was adapted as well in this set. Unprecedented adapting a Mirage story for a 1987 cartoonesqe audience.

Thank you! I knew about the comics, but not the storybooks.

So I'm looking at the books on eBay and one copy of Return of the Shredder has a couple of interior shots. It looks like Baxter has short hair (albeit not in the season 1 style)? Am I mistaken because of the angle or am I correct? I am both amused and appalled if Baxter wasn't allowed to have long hair in the books.

It's nothing to do with being "allowed" to look one way or another. :tlol: I think the artist was given early concept art or something rather than his actual model sheet, if he was given any reference at all, that is.

Supposedly we will have a Mega Bloks version of him in human form soon.

Aren't they going to make a Classics Mutation pack for Baxter with Mega Bloks? Doesn't that mean that we'll get a Mega Bloks human '87 Baxter?

Did you not see my post right above yours?

Of course not.

Very interesting. I hope this Mega Bloks thing will happen. I've heard this is a rumor and not officially confirmed?

That will hopefully really happen then! Wow, the detail is incredible. I am very impressed.

I'd also like to add that a large series of TMNT 87 cels with mistmatched backgrounds can be had on eBay, and some of 'em have him in them.

The ones I can find at the moment are more expensive than normal, though. :/

Here's one I have, and one I saved a picture of.

I also find it funny how different Baxter looks in the various book and comic adaptations of the cartoon, though I will say I love the endearing way Ken Mitchroney draws him in the Archie Comics adaptation of "The Incredible Shrinking Turtles"

I've noticed those cels (and a really bizarre fact-file card)! Awesome!

Wow, maybe I should make a page on my site for all the different interpretations of the character in official media. I was wondering about the Archie Comics version. That is cute!
