I'm just curious. I'd like to see your collection, that's all. Since I'm new here. :D

There are a few high class collectors. They become obvious the more you hang around lol they pretty much have gold in their collections

I think tmntman buys literally everything.

I've been lurking forever because my account wasn't verified for the longest

Yeah, tmntman must have every figure ever made - at least twice !! Haha.

His Turtles museum site was a main stay of mine for ages before finding this site. It's still visited at least once a week. And every time I visit I find something different to look st read. I love reading revues retrospectively.

kaptainmyke
11-05-2016, 08:48 PM
what is his website?

edit: Nevermind, okay, I been to his website before. Indeed, it appears he owns every figure. Ever made. Neat!

I've probably bought a few figures from several of you on this forum now that I think about it.

SO I noticed there hasn't been a "most valuable" or "rarest" thread in a quite some time. Thoughts? I would love to hear some updated new conversations regarding the old or current figures.

Right now for me, Nick Mutations Robotic Foot and Dogpound. Somehow these 2 slipped past me and are the the only ones I'm missing from the current line.

I have a loose Dogpound but not MOC

I may be wrong but I think he's after the mutations Dog Pound.
That was one I nearly missed out on myself.

As for rare figures etc. it depends on what you want in your own collection.
I have no interest in Scratch for example, but I really want the Battle Nexus box set presentation . I haven't come across one yet.

Stephen Reese had the complete 90's Playmates toy catalog at one point, although he eventually sold nearly all of it.

On Reece's photobucket, he has a brown prototype in the black box thing. Is that a prototype hotspot? I can't really tell.

Still irk's me that he sold his collection when I first started collecting lol

Are you talking about the original wax sculpt from the line that are in refrigerator unit? At 9:00 in YouTube video it's explained some. :) I wasn't sure about that setup at first either.

I think it is definitely true that people different people have different ideas of rare and what they really want in their collection. But the lure of the 'rare', in terms of what is widely regarded to be so is hard to resist I find. I want a lot of the more common figures because they look great but I bit when a MOC Scratch was available at what I deemed an acceptable price and although I'm not dying to get my hands on the likes of Hot Spot, Shogun Shoate, Shogun Triceraton or Tyrannoshredder etc I know full well I'd probably pull the trigger.

Actually that depends on what you're looking out for. There are people like Dan with tmnttoys.com, along with people like Mzx10484 with his near-to-MOC-collection (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=40966) and me with tmnttoys.net (click signature picture) whereas all 3 of us have different collecting habbits.

Why do people still say that Krang figure's a bootleg? :???: It's a custom.

Its probably because its made in limited supply. I look at it like this, one group is "officially licensed" and one is not.

When the custom figure was cast and retailed, it'll fall under the definition as a bootleg.
