I got Soul's Winter hardcover book and I got the 25th Anniversary IDW hardcover.

I was lucky enough to find them both in great condition for a total of 15 bucks or so. It was a great day.

I searched the forums, and as usual no clear cut results were shown... so SOul's Winter is like 3 issues in the 30s? By Zulli? I've seen them around and they always looked to be "realistic" TMNT style.

It seems interesting. The notes in the inside cover skip around on the issues its like 31, 34, 38? I thought it was like 3 issues together in the 30s?

The 25th anniversary looks to be a bunch of stories? Not even issues? Very confused on this one.

Thanks guys.

They're 3 issues all in the same universe. In Mirage the last two were printed months after the first one.

#31 & 35-36 form Zulli's TMNT trilogy, and he also did three short stories included in that collection (one of them, "O Deed", seems to set in the regular Mirage TMNT universe; whereas the other two take place in the same continuity as the Soul's saga)

The 25th anniversary book is a collection of some of Kevin Eastman's favorite TMNT stories, including a few (scattered) full issues. More info can be found at TMNT Entity. (http://tmntentity.blogspot.com/2010/05/tmnt-25th-quarter-century-celebration.html)

Ahhh Soul's Winter. I remember buying it, excited to read it after all the praise it got on these forums, and being insanely deflated upon reading it. I guess I didn't "get it" or it just wasn't for me. Ah well. Hope you like it.

It's deep. And psychological.

Yeah, I understood all that stuff; just thought that the story was still boring as hell.

Another big selling point of Souls Winter was Zulli's amazing art style. Did you at least like that?

I scored a piece by Eric Canete with heavy Zulli influence for my art collection. http://i.imgur.com/TP6sLij.jpg
Cost a pretty penny, but I couldn't walk away from it.

One better there, slightly... when Kevin put up some Zulli sketch art from the series, I had to grab a couple of pieces...
