Let that sink in.

Well...so far. They'll defeat him either at the end of this season or the end of the show.

The show's not even over yet. Perhaps waiting for the end would be wise.

They didn't truly defeat the Shredder in the 2003 series until Turtles Forever, the series finale (although technically he was defeated in Exodus).

As others have said, we can't make a conclusion like this until the show is actually over.

They will in the next 2 months. Nick's Shredder is actually competant. Let that sink in. There were times OT Shredder got beaten by Channel Six. & as far as 4kids' turtles go, they hadda become dragons to take down the original Shredder & later required the combined strength of 12 ninja turtles + Shredder/B&R to beat Ch'rell in Turtles Forever. Seriously, stop being a hater.

1st movie: Beaten by Splinter
2nd movie: Beaten by himself
Next Mutation: Beaten by Venus
PDTMNT1: Beaten by April
PDTMNT2: Beaten by Krang

So there's 5 iterations right off the bat where the turtles couldn't do it themselves. 6 if you count the aid they got in 4kids, 7 if you wanna be super nitpicky about the OT, 8 if I'm busting balls & remind you Splinter killed him in IDW, too.

We already know Season 5's most likely the last season and Super Shredder's being taken down this Season...so....

The Turtles never actually got to have a fight with normal Shredder and fend for themselves.

Do you mean the TMNTs themselves never defeated Shredder in 2k12, or that Shredder was never defeated in 2k12?

Because if we're going by TMNTs themselves never defeating Shredder, many have pointed out that 2k12 is not alone.

But if we're going with "Shredder was never defeated," that's not true. Splinter jacked up Shredder so badly in "Earth's Last Stand" that he was crippled and needed to be healed and rebuilt with mutagen.

I guess it's true that Shredder hasn't yet been KILLED in 2k12, but as other have pointed out, the season still has 4 episodes, plus a least one more season. You can't take out your villain before the story is finished!

I'm begging you, please let that go.

Oh well, hey'll likely get defeated in the season four final, but as the series whole minus season five ( Which is coming up soon ) Yah.

Though, I thought Shredder in the 4Kids series was boss too. I think I preferred the rivalry between the turtles and Shredder in that series more, this series it was more so Shredder V.S Splinter, meh.

That's how its supposed to be though. It's always be or should be splinter vs shredder with the turtles caught in the middle.

I think the Shredder will finally get defeated, since Season 5 will supposedly be the final season, I can see Karai taking over the Foot Clan after that.

Shredder was never defeated in the 19871996 cartoon TV-series either. Just the Technodrome being trashed.

Nick Shredder is truly the most competent Shredder, aside from maybe Ch'rell and Tengu Shredder, one who required multiple versions of the Turtles plus Splinter, Karai, 80s Shredder and Krang, and one who required magical powers to beat. IDW Shredder is also competent, however he died at the hands of Splinter.

He died in the first issue of Mirage (though I think he came back, haven't read many Mirage stories).
He was defeated by the Turtles many times, and even then he was really incompetent, anyone could beat him.
Killed by Splinter in the first movie.
Killed by himself in the second movie.
Defeated by Venus in TNM.
Covered the first 2 4Kids Shredders already, but Cyber Shredder was defeated by Don and the Turtle X armour.
While Shredder was competent in IDW, it was Splinter who struck the final blow.

Nick Shredder, however, hasn't been defeated by a bunch of mutated. teenage turtles trained in the art of being a ninja. Shredder hasn't been properly defeated by anyone but his equal, Hamato Yoshi, who Shredder managed to actually kill (albeit not a fair fight, but still). If Shredder waited to heal properly with the mutagen, he would probably be a bit stronger than he used to be, but not to unstable Super Shredder proportions.

Note that my information might not be 100% accurate as it's been a while since I read/watched some incarnations.

EDIT: Powder beat me to it.

Bingo.

But they never really BATTLED this 2K12 shredder much. I only remember maybe three or four moments of direct sword to gauntlet confrontation. and that's it.

Where as in 2K3, as they pointed out, utrom shredder got harder to beat each time they faced him. that's what made him so fun. he was never a push over.

Where as FW Shredder was used more for comedy, due to the fact that back then, they COULDN'T do any serious martial arts stuff.

I'd love to see a Reboot of Fred Wolf done in a little more serious 4 kids style, while still keeping the fun and humor. to see what they could do if they wanted with updated sense of sensibilities.

Mirage Shredder was killed by his own grenade and therefore...

Really, any time they destroy a villain's plans it's a defeat.

I'm talking along the lines of the Turtles being formidable fighters rather than them foiling Shredder's plans.

that wouldbe a fun topic in and of itself. And we can't go by perceived, off screen skill either. We would have to judge wich version of the turtles are the best fighters based only on what we see ON Screen...and add in the level of seriousness each universe allows them to be as part of the equation.

Is that just a list of all the turtles universes or are you really saying that the PD turtles are the best fighters and Mirage/FW are among the worst?

Besides their huge size and bulk, the PD turtles would probably be among the worse fighters since they learned Ninjitsu very unreliably and lost multiple times throughout their movie. Not to mention they constantly goof off while fighting in a way that not even the FW turtles do, atleast the latter (even FW Michelangelo) take the situation seriously when the time is appropriate.

Mirage and FW however, I'd say are among the best. I may not know too much about Mirage but based on what I've seen, they've gone through some pretty tough situations and won't hesitate to do some serious harm. The FW turtles on the other hand are not only skilled Fighters, shown to have been keep up with their Nick counterparts, but are unique in using the environment to their advantage, having 4th wall awareness and toonforce.

So far there have been 11 fights with at least one of the turtles fighting shredder so far (Up to Power inside her now).

I would have preferred more, or at least some of the fights being a bit longer (Enemy of my enemy, Casey jones vs the underworld and The legend of the Kuro Kabuto had very short Shredder vs turtle fight scenes.)

The writers paved the way towards Shredder's defeat at the hands of the turtles given how Splinter failed and nearly died beforehand. I just hope April's absurd psychic powers won't interfere with the Turtles' and Karai's much deserved victory.

So how many points does one Shredder lose if they get beat by reporter non ninja Megan Fox April O'Neil?
