View Full Version : Weird Dreams of the night

I wish I could draw, because some dream images are so real, I think thy happened.

a few nights ago, I had a dream of a kaiju invasion. a Gaint Monster Bird nested on our house before it fought a giant monster slug that burried itself beneath the house behind us.

A few days before that, I had dreams that I found an old coint, that was so rusted, you couldn't see what it wass, but it was bigger than a quarter. then for some reason it morphed into an old firefighters badge with a specific date, 1895.

other dreams I have once, and then remember instantly when awake a few years later when something triggers the memory. like i lived another life elsewhere.

weird.

I wish I could draw

A common wish. :P

I too have really weird dreams sometimes. A lot of them I forget about a little bit after I wake up. Ones I do remember about involve these deformed creatures invading my house and me hunting them down. I've also dreamt about my future self, and a lot of those are not pleasant at all, and I really hope those don't turn out to be my actual future because if they are I'm screwed.

I like to think that these dreams are a reflection of my thoughts and feelings I've had throughout the day, and that my thinking about certain stuff so much starts to affect my dreams.

Dreams are so weird. I once had a dream in which i was flying, it felt so real that I could feel what flying feels like. I also always have this dream where I'm falling down an endless pit, and i always end up waking up, so i don't die.

Heck... forget drawing, I'm at the point of just needing to be able to video record it from my mind. Because last night's dreams was one of the longest, craziest ones I've had in a while. Just all kinds of 'wtf.'

Between a trip to visiting a theme park with my mother, to later back home and my dad (deceased) was there (who I knew in the dream was dead - I always seem to know it in dreams of him :ohwell: - and because he's dead and just visiting I stopped myself from being annoyed that he took the rest of the chestnuts we apparently had in the fridge :-?), then later we were trying to stop bad people or things from breaking into the house, and unknown dream people where there helping (I think the only known person there then was my sister), and a bunch of stuff I can't describe and too blurry now...

But it included 'we' or someone having the power to lay their hands on the glass of the windows and it would burn the shape of bats onto the glass and for some reason this prevented the bad people/things from getting in. But eventually it (the bats) would weaken so it had to be done multiple times on the glass.

But then the power to do this stopped working entirely... so we were pretty much about to be screwed.

I live a sober life... honest.

Flying... I once just took off from the backyard, from the outside of the house just behind my head when I sleep, flew to some other part of the country and what not. That was quite a few years ago now. I still distinctly remember the farm I stopped at, at a barn, before heading home, and was hiding so people wouldn't see me. I think I'd left at night, and it was daytime by the time I was at the farm and deciding I should head home. Also recall having flown high over a city on the way out.

Falling... I once disproved the old "if you die in your dreams then you die in real life" thing. Dreamed I was climbing a tall tower... then, after getting pretty high up I fell off, hit the ground and died on impact. :ohwell:

for some reason I always wake up before I hit the ground even when I don't try to.

Also hate when I'm in a really good dream, having fun, and I just wake up.

Oddly, I have recurring dreams about waking up in the same cemetery, and panicking trying to find a way out of the huge place.

The other night, I dreamt I was part of the wacky races team. We crash landed, and found our way to a small town and went into an italian restaurant. Somehow, the dream ended with a psychic giving us readings, and mentioning she sees an lady ghost from the 1800's, on fire, just staring at us from the restaurant's back yard.

Okay, reading that with Splinter the boss' signature image above it added to the creepiness. lol

slightly less creepy, but just as weird.

a trial going on that we apparently had to witness in the audience. for some reason, rita rudner of all people, hadto help the judge with the trial and ask questions of people that where in the trial.

My dead grandfather was also there, covering up my eyes and telling me not to look at the next bit of evidence because it was too gruesome or something. i woke up soon after.

Last night I had a really weird dream.

In it Beavis and Butthead's voice actors IRL were Bill and Ted from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. And for some reason I was with them (Bill and Ted) at a fancy restaurant eating pasta while they played phone games for the entire time. I tried having a normal conversation with them but they were more interested in their phone. So I just sat there and enjoyed my pasta. And this went on until I woke up.

Weird.

latest one was tryingto get a selfie with mr.bean, but usually it's with the muppets :)

I've had a few memorable supernatural dreams.
As for flying, I've regularly flown in dreams for years, usually if I'm scared of something but also if I know I'm dreaming.
A lot of dreams are common though, things like not being able to dial a number or type an email address, or lights not turning on, what was the movie that was about that?
A common dream for me me lately is where I am trying to lock doors and they just won't lock.

I have so many of them. I've started to keep a dream journal and I'm going to make a copy of it in this really amazing leather notebook I got for Christmas a few years ago.

I want to be an author so I use my dreams as inspiration. Some of them are really comforting even if they make little practical sense like this one about these mice flying across the ocean with parachutes.

Sometimes they even have coherent storylines (probably helped by the way how I can sometimes pause the dream and direct it).

It seems as good inspiration, if your dreams are interesting enough. I've wanted to try writing lately, not to be an author, just for myself.

To be honest, that's why I started and it's why I actually do it but I do want to get some works published.

I really encourage you to start. It's a rewarding hobby. :)

Most hated dreams...

finding out my car is stolen. weirdly, I h ave one that is real time consecutive. I buy a new car, and afew months later it gets 'dream stolen' in the same spot and i'm just as annoyed.

Dreams where cars don't behave like they are supposed too.....breaks not working, etc..

Dreams where pets run away.

a few weird ones this week that involved celebrities and community talks.....

Going through old stuff I found a dream journal from about 11 years ago, I only did that for a very short time but it was interesting to see the recurring dreams I used to have compared to now, some I still have, some stopped and are replaced with new ones.

Got me thinking that the only reoccurring one I truly dislike is the one where I realize that I have a fish tank with one or more fish that has been forgotten and neglected for a long time and trying to save it/them. It's always so sad and feel so bad about having somehow forgotten about them.

And then I was just now looking it up and found that plenty of people have had very similar dreams.

So this one...

Mother kind of roughly grabbing both of my hands (single handed somehow) and quickly and roughly trying to scrub the backs of both hands with steel wool. I broke away from her and was running my hands under cool water to try to ease the pain.

At that point she then went down to the basement for a minute and just as she was coming back up the stairs I quickly tried to close the basement door, which was really thin and flimsy with a wide gap. A lock or hook of some kind could reach across the gap to lock it, but the door was of course very loose and she was fighting me to get through it as I tried to hold it shut.

Repressed feelings much...? :ohwell:

Oh good, I was wondering where this thread was. So I'll just delete the one in Random Thoughts and put it here.

I had the weirdest nightmare, but it still caused me to miss a class this morning.

Got my left eye scratched so badly by a credit card, I was told I needed it removed (and I'm not entirely sure of how that happened?). I was basically blind in that eye and was frantic about it. And all of this happening in the worst shopping mall ever. On at least two occasions in the dream, I tried to look in a mirror to see what had happened, but I had to keep the left lid shut and it was painful to open. I think the worst part was that the eye had actually sunken inwards from the scratch...and had gone foggy.

And it wasn't going to be done at an ER under anesthetics like a proper trauma surgery. No. It was going to be done wide awake, standing up, by some lady who worked there, ready with a glass eye.

There's a joke about consumerism in there somewhere...

weird dreams of the night.

watching a preview of Star Wars Episode 8. people hate it so badly, they start to leave the theater. but harrison ford, myself and carrie fisher stay. and I get to ask them lots of questions.

Trapped in an odd dimension of altered reality by a demon with a friend. apparently in order to escape, we have to figure out clues on where the exit is and devise strategies on how to use our environment to get to said clues. sadly, the friend was the one with the tactical knowledge, i just helped carry things out and the demon silenced that advantage by taking away their voice. i woke up soon after.

also been having alot of moving dreams lately. the house sits empty and i'm resisting leaving, or trying to talk someone into letting me stay by buying the house for me.

Oddly, I'm not really too attached to this area or the location..so not really sure why this would bother me so much.

Those are the most interesting ones.

If that were possible, some of mine would come of as examples of Geiger or Escher art turned horrifyingly real. Like the "fall-apart/puzzle cat" dream, or the one with the disemboweled but living mama cat giving birth to skinless half skeletal kittens. It's like nightmarishly weird and disturbing stuff. Lovecraft, King and Koontz have nuthin on my dreams....

weird 3 part flash dream. first i'm a scientist who discovers that human dna is being altered to help attract an alien force to make it seem like earth is ripe for invasion. Second part, the alien army arrives, and now i'm the flash. it's his job to get his lady friend and her family out, because he can't help for some reason in the actual battle. only when he tries to out run the army, he disocers that they can see him like he's not running at all, and stab him stopped. third part, i'm the flashes friend. he's recovered and captured along with the girl he was supposed to save. her family is safe, but both don't know that. and she hates him because she doesn't know if her family is safe. and it was the friends job to repair the relationship under captured circumstances. if the girl doesn't like the friend, at least she can still like the flash. Why can't i dream about flying like most people?

So...I had a dream, I was reading a bunch of comics, and Mewtwo was name dropped in one of them.

Turns out today is Mewtwo's "birthday". And I had an obsession with Mewtwo in parts of third and fourth grade.

So I'm reeling a little bit.

An alternate earth with super intelligent, human like gorillas...battling other gorillas for survival.

the good ones feel they need more help, so they go to a dimensional hub where people of all universes come to hang out. all the ninja turtles are there. all the batmen. all the supermen. etc.

the gorillas recruit some of the greatest versions of heroes to come help them...and that's when one wakes up at the hero roll call.

Speaking of Turtles...

Dreamed last night of seeing a TMNT film that was I think the second (maybe third?) in a series (that doesn't actually exist). The film was entirely focused on Leo as his brothers were all dead and gone. :(

And then this film killed Leo too. They did it because it was basically the film makers way of being done with these films and never having to make any more.

Wtf... I was so upset for the rest of this dream post-film, even while dreaming otherwise unrelated things. :tcry:

Think I was also clenching my teeth in my sleep again (something I only tend to do when I've been stressed out), so assuming the dream itself was also stress related. (Work for sure, but some 2018 series worries thrown in? Maybe that they're killing who he is? )

eventually i'm 4 days away in line in wait.
That's one hell of a line. I hope the convention (and character appearance) was lasting long enough. lol

Those dreams that feels real. Though dreaming I am pregnant isn't weird or unusual, when I dream I can feel twins moving around inside, that's new. I don't know what more than one at a time feels like, then they were confirmed on a very detailed scan, full grown.

After waking and going back to sleep the next dream was more weird, 80's Shredder hanging upside down and a creature sucking on his head... okay, why on earth I would dream that I have no idea

Almost like dreaming of separate universes I live full lives in.

I'll dream of something one night. remember it when I wake up. forget about it. and 4 days later, refer to it in another dream like it really happened in real life.

oy.

Made me remember there was some Turtley element to a dream two or three nights ago... Wish I could remember it.

Though a fave Turtle-themed one I still remember is one where, though the place and situation was odd, waking up in the dream to find myself physically like them - genuinely surprised in the dream to find myself green skinned and three fingered (and apparently green ankles since I was wearing capri pants and took notice of that and feared it would give me away ) - was still pretty awesome. :D Was afraid people would notice I was different (at some kind of picnic outside of some country-ish home-like medical recovery center no less; I was a patient but no idea why), but somehow no one did.

Reminds me of that episode where 80s Shredder has a bucket stuck on his head and you can hear his muffled ranting, followed by Bebop saying "Trust me, you don't wanna know what he's saying."

Anyways, I have a really overactive imagination and tend to dream about alot of things I consciously think about while awake. I've had dreams where I'm browsing imaginary threads on the technodrome forums, followed by me waking up and getting confused once I can't find the imagined posts/threads on my phone.

I actually haven't had many TMNT dreams, your dream with them all dying seemed depressing Indigo :) I could get a few people may have had that before 2012's finale :)

I don't seem to be remembering many dreams at the moment. I've had few spiritual type ones over the years and some clustered around the time someone died.
Anyway, I won't bore everyone with too many dreams, I'll just put one which stuck in my mind below.

One dream I remember was where I had left my body. I had got out bed in the night and was going back, I knew I was dreaming but it felt real, I could feel the carpet under my feet, I stopped at my bedroom door and thought 'I'm going to see myself sleeping when I go in there' the bedroom was warm from body heat, I could hear breathing (that of my baby too who was next to my bed at the time) and there I was sleeping, I just though 'I guess I am supposed to climb back in' I moved towards my body and the dream was over.

Had the weirdest dream last night, don't even know what to say of it.

So me and my family and family friends were all sitting in the lounge for a get together, talking and eating and whatnot. It was pitch black outside however, and even in the lit room, did everything feel very dark so the mood already wasn't the happiest from the get go.

Then randomly, the tv turns on and on the screen, one of our family friends are shown live while they're with us in the room. The weird thing is, there were no cameras infront of us and the live video was so professional looking, you could've sworn you were watching a big blockbuster hollywood film in theatres.

Then an eerie/alien/robotic sounding voice came out of the tv, asking the filmed family member a question live. The person being filmed was honestly frozen, and she just looked at herself in the screen in pure terror. The alien broadcast then focused on each of the people in the rooms faces, asking them questions to which there were no answers, only staring and terrified facial expressions. Then, I was the only one left and as I was opening the fridge to grab a bite, they filmed me and asked me a question so terrifying that I began to profusely sweat. I however, did manage to turn around, look at myself on the large tv screen and then proceed to say "I honestly don't know what to say, I don't have an answer" to which the creepy alien/demonic voice replied "You should always have an answer".

I then woke up.

Speaking of weird....

Last night I had a dream that there was a gremlin in my bedroom. Seriously, it looked like Stripe from the movie Gremlins, but about two feet tall, with a long tail and a spine down its back, and the mohawk was spiked. And it was wearing bells.... It was like a gremlin and a Xenomorph (from Aliens) mated or something. This thing was running around the end of the bed, and then it jumped up on the bed snarling and ran across it and out the door. I sat up to ask Mr D what the heck that thing was, only to realize I'd been dreaming, and he wasn't there. He'd gone out to check his blood sugar like he usually does around 3am, so I got up and sat with him for a while to get the dream out of my head. Freaked me out.

I will occasionally have weird ghost dreams. but not often.

the most recent one that spooked the hell out of me.

my car had gone missing. seems someone moved it and parked it. only problem is, it was parked in the path of a horde of super fast moving reapers. They traveled a line from one under world dwelling to another under world dwelling, which was a cave stairwell in the ground. and unfortunately my car was at the end of it. the only way to get to it, was to either wait till daylight, or wait till the hordes of reapers had passed. both one and the same.

ugh.

Pretty scary dream you had there had, Vegita San. However, is it scarier than having a dream about being late for work? Having work at 6 am today, I had a dream after falling back asleep during about 3:40 am about sleeping in during work till 9 am and running to my work place, praying I wasn't going to be fired  I then woke up around 4:30 am, feeling super relieved. Told my boss about the dream today and we had a good laugh together.

Also in the same night, had a dream about watching "Wanted Bebop and Rocksteady" from Nick tmnt, but with a few scenes not present in the actual special. There was a scene where April fought 80s Shredder, with the latter winning. I was rooting for 80s Shredder to win, and he almost had it, when April won at the end by kissing him on the lips.... :o Yeah, I didn't see that coming and I know for a fact that I don't ship Nick April and 80s Shredder (don't take notes Tumblr :tlol:

Thinking about it I'd imagine you might find ships for 80's April and Shredder but I can't say I've looked.

I said I rarely dream about turtles a few post back but I did have one the other night, Leo had something inside him which would lead him to become evil and cause a massive destruction, some were trying to kill him before it emerged and some were defending him, in the end Luke Skywalker (as he is now, older) sat with him and explained how he needed to go into exile for the sake of everyone else, he was being quite fatherly/comforting to Leo, Leo had agreed and was getting ready to go to wherever he was to sent until something had happened to remove whatever was inside him and that was the end. That dream was just a mixture of things I have watched over time.

an apacolyptic earth. remaining humans travel the globe in search of more survivors in their crawler. they finally find some. indians, in what appears to be the last pristine lake on earth.

they disembark, appear to make friends. but the indians slaughter half their crew, hoping to get all their clothes for themselves. the survivors escape back to the crawler and move on. turns out, humanity isn't destroyed. they just moved to another continent and have advanced technology. they send dan expedition out to the 'deserted areas'..hoping to see if anyone remains. and that's when i wake up

dreaming in movies again.

first, it started off as a family guy skit about altering the weather. some joke they did caused a major calamity in the atmosphere, that spread and concentrated on florida. The entire state and all the ships at sea started slowly lifting into the air.

meanwhile, I am exploring something under construction. one of the security guys there thinks I stole something, because I noticed an empty b ox and was trying to move it to a trash bin. I told him to check the security cameras, and we where going to his bosses office when people started noticing the ships being lifted into the sea and the ground shifting. We all hoped the state would flop back down...so we went and braced ourselves against the walls.

As the state splashed back down into the ocean, and flooded the entire area, monster whales came in. I managed to save the guy accusing me of stealing before the state leveled it out and the flood passed...and soon all was forgotten and suddenly i'm owed a favor and wants to give me a job as we are riding a bus around surveying homes damaged.

wow, that was a weird dream. i dreamed i saw a movie, where an evil curse was unleased by a god to clense the land. at first the mortals where fooled into serving the gods evey whim, but soon they realized they where becoming evil. when they realized there was no escape, they cast themselves into the see of dissolvment and said goodbye to the earth, realizing the planet was lost and basically moved on happy. it was like watching some weird horror movie, with a strangely happy ending for characters that where not really all that likeable and even helped cause the disaster. it even had it's own bitter s weet sound track

the final shot was a bunch of aged looking controlled humans, no longer human, falling into the dissolved see and renouncing evil, dissolving into skeletons saying 'earth has been good to us'

I felt exposed.
Futhermore, I ran to a nearby vehicle, and drove recklessly.
I felt a sense of security ... at least until a crashed into an inconvenient bush.

Then, I awoke, thinking to myself, "What was that - a message of some sort?"
To this day, I continue to wonder ... what if ...
