Anyone out there doing a full run through all volumes? I am about 42 issues in on volume 1, anyone find some of these issues to be fun but pointless?

I have all the old Mirage issues but that was because I started collecting them all in the early 2000's from like 2002-2007 when I was a teenager and in my early 20's getting into Mirage for the first time. I imagine it's much hard to get them all now than when I did an entire decade ago.

Mirage Volume 1 is filled with a lot of filler or slice of life issues in the middle, the series doesn't become continuity heavy till issue #45 onward and especially during City at War.

Been a while since I ran through stuff. I've long wanted to follow Dr. Spengler's continuity timeline, but it's a bit of a pain in the ass to go through my boxes so sporadically.

i've never read through Mirage (vol.1) 1-62 numerically.
i always just read the Eastman/Laird issues with the few guest stories that fit into what they started.
the other stories that are just off the wall slapstick comedy (or feel alternate universe) i'll just pick and read at random.

it too jarring an experience otherwise.

Yeah, volume 1 is very hit and miss. It ranges from awesome to wtf? Especially in the 30s-40s. Issue 48 gets back to a coherent style until the end of the series.
I started reading it when around when #13 was released and steadily read it until the end. Some, I haven't read since. I want to go back and reread through of the series, but it would probably take me forever.

Reading volume 1 as I aquire them, so not really in order. Not planning on collecting volumes 2-4, but I think that a lot of those issues are not available digitally and I do want to read them.

I have almost all the vintage comics
Still a few I don't have

Going through em all in sequence
Yeah volume one can be crazy and many wtf moments. Overall it's a pretty good read

I'm going for a full IDW run. I have all the A covers and I'm working on B. I'm not sure if I can get all the exclusive stuff but I have a fair amount of them. Over 300 issues is what I currently have. I am starting to get a bit into Mirage but not anything big, I do have a first print #4.

As I was collecting Volume 1, I was also reading the issues I could find, especially the filler/one-shot issuesn not matter their #.
Major arcs such as the first eleven issues, Return to New York, City at War... were read as a whole in the right order though.

I'm rereading V1 too. There are some issues I'll skip, however, specifically #38, that truly bizarre issue featuring Raphael & the cow on the cover.

Then you can skip #39 and #40 as well.

38-40 have no real purpose but are quick reads

Yeah I'm on to those next. Guess I'm buying paper copies of 3 & 4 though when I get that far.

As far as I know, I own at least one printing of everything Turtles thats out except the p0rn parody comic. I've read all of them, but that previously mentioned one.

I find that reading the hc Eastman & Laird volumes that IDW printed makes reading volume one a breeze. Then I snagged the Souls trilogy as a hard cover as well. Those are the Important issues. Volume 2 was fun but short lived. Volume 3 I didn't originally think I would like but has come to be a favorite. Volume 4 I read mostly out oforder the first time as I bouht them. I have 2 copies of 29 & 30 and then 3 copies of 31 & 32.

I like collected editions to reread but single issues to collect...

I also have some spare random issues of every series...
