"This will be the first wave of our global launch for one of the most anticipated films of 2004," said Geoffrey Ammer, President, Worldwide Marketing for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group. "The worldwide demand for images and materials from Spider-Man 2 is nearly insatiable and, given that such a large segment of the opening weekend audience for the first film was influenced by our interactive campaign, what better way to reward that loyalty than by sharing these exclusive images with fans around the world on the Internet. Thanks to our solid relationship with the people at Yahoo!, we are taking full advantage of our capability to host this global premiere for the enjoyment of our fans worldwide."

"We are pleased to leverage the global reach of Yahoo! For the worldwide phenomenon of Spider-Man®," said Jim Moloshok, Yahoo! Senior Vice President, Media, Entertainment, Information & Finance. "Yahoo's audience around the world is made up of the same entertainment consumers who stand in line for a movie on opening weekend, and the Yahoo! network is the ideal place to give the fans their first peek at Spider-Man's newest adventures."

Following its online premiere, the new trailer will segue into U.S. theaters on Wednesday, December 17, where the studio is targeting such films as The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

On May 3, 2002, Spider-Man made box office history with a record- shattering opening weekend of $114 million. The film went on to earn more than $820 million worldwide and ranks as the fifth highest grossing film in U.S. history.

Based on exit polls that Sony conducted during the opening weekend of Spider-Man, an estimated 47 percent of patrons cited the Internet as an important source of information for the movie.

In Spider-Man® 2, the latest installment in the blockbuster Spider-Man® series, based on the classic Marvel Super Hero®, Tobey Maguire returns as the mild-mannered Peter Parker, who is juggling the delicate balance of his dual life as a college student and a superhuman crime fighter.

The entertaining adventure escalates and Spider-Man's life becomes even more complicated when he confronts a new nemesis, the brilliant Otto Octavius, (Alfred Molina) who has been reincarnated as the maniacal and multi-tentacled "Doc Ock."

In addition to Maguire and Molina, Spider-Man 2 also stars Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Rosemary Harris, Donna Murphy and J.K. Simmons. Spider-Man 2 is directed by Sam Raimi and based on the Marvel Comic book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

Hopefully the tenticles work really well and don't just look cool. I'd like to see a scene with Doc Ock drinking a cup of tea & smoking a sig (with his real arms) and battling Spidey (with his tenticles)

Spider-Man sucked, movie wise, the comics kick ass. But X2 and X1 were way better than Spidey. But this looks promising.

Venom won't be in the movies until three or four.

I thought the trailer was fantastic BUT, there were two shots that irked me. One was the close up of MJ's lips, the other is when Doc Ock walks up to MJ and Peter. (Though I love the shot now, it's very Sam Raimi-esque. :D )

The tenticles look awesome, the actor who plays Doc oct...looks Gay. Sequels always have bad casting......and i dunno, but it just looks like hes going to play doc oct weakly.

DOCTOR OCTOPUS NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER, WILL HAVE AN ACCENT.

Doc Ock from the 90's cartoon sucked. Don't ever go by the cartoon. Ever.

Sorry about that, I had to deal with this at the other forums I go to...

Wasn't going by the cartoon (indeed, never watched it).

I thought he spoke with a German twist? Maybe not. But actually I was remembering the accent from the video game lol.

Anyhoo, comics are a print medium, so just because everything is spelled right in the balloons doesn't mean there's no accent going on right?

please don't kill me okay

Well, sorry. I thought you were going by the cartoon. I seriously got tired of people saying that the trailer sucked because he didn't have a german accent.

Oh, and he was born in New York, so I would assume he would have no accent. (Except for a Bronx accent. )

X2 SUCKED!!!! i don't know why everyone likes it so muc

Let's see:

Great development for Wolverine

Kick-ass fight scenes

Nice cliffhanger ending

Great speech from Xavier

Great acting from Ian Mckellen

In other words:

GODLY MOVIE

Hell I don't see why everyone hated The Hulk, I was laughing at them really, they wanted a POPCORN movie, and they got a Peater David-style Comic movie, now THAT was great.

I liked HULK. Sometimes I feel as if I'm one of the few people that did. I think most people were so disappointed with HULK because they were expecting waaay too much from it. HULK was actually a very good movie, in my opinion.

I'm a lifelong Spidey fan so I have no doubt that I'll love this movie.

I loved Hulk. Probably my second favourite Marvel movie. I think most people hated it, because they expected alot of action, or something like the old TV show, and instead they got a character driven movie with alot of feeling.

You're probably right about that. I think Hulk was a pretty good movie and had good action sequences too. Most noteworthy parts are when he does the whole "shockwave" thing with the pavement and when he gets taken up 15 or so km into the atmosphere by the fighter jet. That was really neat and unexpected.

Seeing the Hulk in the theatre was the biggest waste of my money ever. My friend actually fell asleep halfway through the movie it was so bad.
