[Storm Wolf]

The Lone Wolf's Song

The lone wolf trail
The one I run
No pack nor mate
This trail is no fun

Eyes filled with fear
no beast to be seen
No wolf was there
To lick my wound clean

When the hunter came
And put a bullet in my head
It wont be long now
I'll soon be dead

No pack nor mate
My future looks bleak
As I lay in the snow
Tired and weak

I take one last look
I start to cry
Now it's time for me to die
I close my eye's
take one last breath
And slip silently
Into a lonely death

Ooh, coolness! I like it. I never liked writing poetry (we were forced to in a few English classes I took... ugh), but I like reading it. Strangely enough, one of my favorite poets is Robert Frost. :anime:

*points up* The poetry book. I entered a poetry contest once and made the finals. They said I would be published in the book, and have a chance at the $10,000 prize. My friend was also a finalist. Well, the letter said we would have to BUY this $50+ book. I couldn't afford it, but my friend bought it. When she got it, my poem wasn't in the book.

Not saying all contests are like that, but some are.
