My favorite TMNT game is Tournament Fighters on SNES, although TMNT III: The Manhatten Project (NES) comes in a really close second place. I really liked that Konami included TONS of the obscure characters that Playmates had released as toys, like Dirtbag or Groundchuck.

For nostalgic reasons, it would be a tie between the Original arcade game and the first Nes game.
But I think the best is Tournament fighters on the Snes and Manhattan Missons for the PC.
If you haven't played Manhattan Missons on the PC you should! it's mostly based on the original mirage comics and it's a very big game.
There's this website that has loads of old PC games for download (www.the-underdogs.org) and they gave it top marks, saying it was one of the best superhero games ever made.
The graphics and animation are great, and each mission is based in a different part of the city, which you can choose at random.
Each mission has different enemies, from the Foot to the Triceratons, you can even practice different moves in the lair.
Personally I think this is the closest a TMNT game has gotten to an adventure/action game.
That was my first post in yonks, mostly lurking though, it's a great forum for TMNT news.

Without a shadow of a doubt TMNT IV: Turtles in Time. I will probably play that game for as long as I play video games.
I'm also quite partial to...
- TMNT the original Arcade Game (and the port despite it being less great)
- TMNT Turtles in Time Arcade version
- TMNT III: The Manhattan Project
- TMNT: Tournament Fighters (all versions)
- TMNT for GBA
I like every TMNT game but my least favs in the series are probably the new console game and possibly the first NES game (though it was neat to have something so original and Castlevania-esque).

TMNT III: the Manhatten Project.
I have so many fond memories of playing that game with my older brother, some of the most fun I've ever had. In fact, whenever he comes over we play it.
On top of that the graphics are simply incredible (for the NES), the special moves are excellent, the gameplay is top-notch and the level design is some of the best I've ever seen.
But my favorite part may have to be the bosses. They're all so original with their own special moves and badass character designs.
Super Shredder, Slash, Regular Shredder, Dirtbag and Krang are among my favorites, but the number 1 spot goes to Tokka. That move where he decks you in the face with so much force you go flying into the billboard (it then electrocutes you) just plain rocks. Almost worth getting hit just to see it.
Only problem is that the game isn't as much fun in 1-player.
For 1-player goodness I resort to Tournament Fighters for the SNES. Not only is it a graphically sweet game, but it's also one of the better 2D fighters I've had the oppertunity to play. Cyber Shredder is freaken hardcore.

TMNT Arcade, no doubt. I had immense fun with that game especially partnering up with three other strangers. The only thing that topped that was the original Konami X-Men side scroller that you have six player action on. I'd kill to get some of the old side scrollers that never made it to console like X-Men and Aliens Vs. Predator.

I love Turtles in Time. I would play it every morning before I went to school because the game was so short to get through. My friend and I even entered the Nintendo Power competition, where whoever finishes it with the fastest time gets some sort of prize. And we actually did it! Except the problem was we beat it on hard difficulty, and not easy like the rules said, so we were disqualified :P

My first two favorites would definitly be
1. The original game for NES, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
(I also loved the box art, which was TMNT #4 reprint)
2. TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: TURTLES IN TIME for SNES
(Just a classic Turtles game, everyone has played this one at one time or another in their lives)

That's a load of crap! They should've given you props for going above and beyond the set challenge by doing it on Hard Mode.

Yeah Simpson is a great great game that I will never understand why it wasn't released. Konami ought to release a side-scroller beat 'em up complilation.
I think I got the most fun out of SNES Tournment Fighters. I really really like Turtles in Time and the very first Coin-op. I liked the first NES game which was back in the days when nearly every game was just insanely impossible to beat. This and Blaster Master took me the longest to beat. TMNT is was a cool game and even played a weird version of a beatles song in the last stage. Boy the memories of it all.
Heh it's not a video but is a game but the TMNT and other strangeness is/was a very memorable blast.

The Simpsons wasn't released on consoles because Acclaim (who had console rights to the Simpsons) wouldn't let Konami

Everything about Tokka was original. The dashing jabs, the way he blocks your jumpkick with his shield, and aw man.. the way he hops across the screen and almost swallows you whole. Man, Tokka's eat attack and Leatherhead's choke hold were 2 reasons to have a 2nd player to help you out.
