I love that conversation,

"Ive never even looked at another guy!"

That was the funniest thing Ive ever heard on anything TMNT...

Oh please let him be good looking....pleasepleaseplease....

*reads thread*

*laughs, cries, who knows what she's really doing....*

why couldnt he be more washboard than washing machine?!

*sob*

at least his arms and legs look muscular....I think. The white eyebrows looks a lil odd tho...

Kameko
09-12-2002, 03:17 PM
Ummm... 'cause he's old?

Machias Banshee
09-12-2002, 03:19 PM
But in the archies he's the same age, but he's got the body of Pierce Brosnan, and the looks and charm of Sean Connery!!!

*sobs*

Maybe the drawings of him will be better...

Kameko
09-12-2002, 03:20 PM
:o Down, girl...

Machias Banshee
09-12-2002, 03:21 PM
 Yeah, i liked the Archies Splinter better....

Kameko
09-12-2002, 03:23 PM
Ummm... I've only ever read Archies, so I haven't got much basis for comparison.

Machias Banshee
09-12-2002, 03:26 PM
The Archies had Splinter tall and handsome *in my opinion* and a lot more active in the series. The others....he's a little furry raisin ready to kick the bucket any second now.

Kameko
09-12-2002, 03:29 PM
 raisin?

Machias Banshee
09-12-2002, 03:33 PM
raisin = short old fogey, just dont tell him i said that!

I agree Also, I would hope that they change nother detail abput the figure: the strapped arms and legs, thats seems like Splinter NEEDS those!

*Here I come to rain on everyone's parade*

I have to say that I am not too pleased with this prototype. It looks nothing like I would expect Splinter to look like at all. A little too tubby, too tall and too *ahem* excuse the saying plastic looking.

The turtle models were much better

Kameko
09-12-2002, 03:44 PM
I think it's easier to pull off reptilian skin w/plastic than it is to create fur...

Machias Banshee
09-12-2002, 04:07 PM
Theyre trying to make Splinter middle aged! why cant he be normal!?

Kameko
09-12-2002, 04:14 PM
what, normal-old?

Machias Banshee
09-12-2002, 04:16 PM

Machias Banshee

*The rat lover speaks*

Well, I actually think I like it! The tail is nice and long, though it needs to be flesh-toned. His build isn't too terrible, rats really are kinda tubby, though I do prefer to picture him with a nice washboard tummy. The eyebrows do need to be toned down, but I can always do that myself. The ears should also be a bit more rounded, but I think I'll just have to resign myself to the fact that Splinter has pointed ears for some weird reason.

Kameko
09-12-2002, 04:51 PM
Augh! He's half-cat!!! :dead:

Machias Banshee
09-12-2002, 04:55 PM
NO, Half-Dog!!!

Kameko
09-12-2002, 04:56 PM
It's a CAT-DOG-RAT!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!

Skeletoncrew
09-12-2002, 04:56 PM
That or he decided that he likes the German Shephard look and clipped his ears.

I also noticed that the poor guy appears to be neutered. He lacks the normally obvious "attributes" of males rats.

Kameko
09-12-2002, 04:58 PM
*snicker* (trying not to laugh in the library) Poor Splinter. Maybe Saki did that to him before he was mutated?

Machias Banshee
09-12-2002, 04:58 PM
NO, they just cant have 'anatomically correct' figures!

And as for the clipped ears, I like that lok on him. That's how i draw him anyways...

As for the Sean Connery/Splinter Comparison....

How could you go wrong? :D

Kameko
09-12-2002, 05:00 PM
Tell that to my mother. My RL little brothers have an anatomically correct little boy doll. I still haven't figured out where in the world she got that thing.

^Ooh! That picture! *drools*

Skeletoncrew
09-12-2002, 06:19 PM
Well, the ears are actually a little more rounded than I thought. I hadn't seen that side view at first. And yeah, the turtles don't have their tails...so I guess Splinter can't have his cajones either.

Mmm...Sean Connery...

Nturtle
09-12-2002, 06:26 PM
geez.. I didn't see that coming!!! he looks a big naked badger!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o I certainly hope they improve Shredder and Splinter... :(

well...umm--Sean Connery old! :goofygri:

Sean Connery old?

"What's the difference between Alex Trebek and a coughing mallard? One's a sick duck. I can't remember how it ends, but your mother's a whore."

"Shuck it Trebek. Shuck it long, and shuck it hard."

"I've got to ask you about The Penis Mightier, Alex."

I loved that skit! But yes, I compare Splinter's gentlemanly charms and looks to Sean Connery...and William Shatner...and Patrick Stewart...and James Earl Jones...*takes a breath* Man, is it hot in here...?

*The rat lover speaks*

The tail is nice and long, though it needs to be flesh-toned..

Here, here I agree as a rat lover and keeper also

rats really are kinda tubby, though I do prefer to picture him with a nice washboard tummy..

But wouldn't you expect a washboard tummy with all the martial arts training he did?

The eyebrows do need to be toned down The ears should also be a bit more rounded, but I think I'll just have to resign myself to the fact that Splinter has pointed ears for some weird reason.

Yes! I call for rounded ears! But not Mickey Mouse like ones

*is trying equally hard to not bust out laughing at these posts, at work*

Well.. what can I say, they made his head look like a WOLF's again. :P

But I disgaree about him needing a washboard stomach. He ain't a 30 year old according to the Mirage timeline. Old age does that. Especially since he spends most of his time sitting around meditating, and not doing situps, pushups, and backflips along with his students. Yeah... ;p

Besides Yoda looks the same way, and he STILL kicks butt plenty well. (that, or it doesn't take much physical strength to use the Force).

*suddenly imagines Yoda nekkid... and shuddders* Glah! See what yu guys made me do? :dead:

I have mixed feelings on this figure of splinter. I think that He looks more Ratlike for sure that the rest of the toys, but he doesn't have that wise look to him. He can still be tough and totally kickass and look wise at the same time...
Also, and this is just me thinking outloud, but does anyone think he looks kind of "Wolflike"?

I think Shredder and Splinter are the only two New TMNT figures that I'm not happy with.

I would like someones opinion on Shredder! I think he looks like something out of Power Rangers. Like some monster created to destroy the turtles, not a guy who's out to conquer earth. Thats just me thinking outloud again. Maybe once I see the Cartoon I'll think differently about both these figures.

Ian!

Mike
09-14-2002, 12:25 PM
He has all the basics of the Mirage Sgreder(minus cape), and then some. I llove the new Shredder design, and think it suits him well.

Machias Banshee
09-14-2002, 12:26 PM
i am positive that Splinter will look much better in his final (dressed) form...

yup, and hpefully shred-head will too!!

Karpo_007
09-14-2002, 02:26 PM
Well he looks nothing like the mirage shredder... exept for the shaded face... he looks like a robot. Tough he is probably better in the show. Or that is what i hope...

But splinter looks ok if he just would get some clothes...

Skeletoncrew
09-14-2002, 02:38 PM
Splinter does sorta have a "werewolf" feel to him doesn't he?

I wish Shredder had a human face, rather than that alien looking mug.

Machias Banshee
09-14-2002, 03:40 PM
I agree. I would like to see shredder's face. Him being a robot just doesnt go in sync with the story, unless something happens to him that causes him to become robotic...

Splinter does look kinda scary...I just pray for him to be better looking. I mean, the original atcion Figs didnt look too much like the drawn guys, so why cant that be different here?

Nturtle
09-14-2002, 03:46 PM
they probabley will be diffrent,I suspect Splinter will look llike he does in the older Mirage Comics, but maybe buffer

Machias Banshee
09-14-2002, 03:50 PM
I want him taller, dangit! I'm sick of a furry yoda wannabe! I want my six foot Mutant Man of muscle!!!

:toops: sorry....

09-14-2002, 03:51 PM
geez... that... was scary

09-14-2002, 03:56 PM
Well this new show is based in the original comics... you should get used to an old splinter...

Machias Banshee
09-14-2002, 03:58 PM
Well, i'm okay with him being older, i just dont want him walking around with one foot in the grave!

Nturtle
09-14-2002, 04:00 PM
yeah every so often he should kick some ass!!!!!!

Machias Banshee
09-14-2002, 04:10 PM
Yes! like in "The shredder gets Splintered! I loved the scene where you see Shredder flying backwards across the screen, with Splinter following behind with another kick...boo-yeah! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
