And, so it begins. The start of the repaints. And they're not even being released here in the states. We're getting a -different- repaint. God help us all. I realize that the turtle brand is selling really well right now. But Playmates needs to watch it. Or they're going to lose retailer and consumer confidence with all the repaints and such. Here you go, repainted Fighting Gear Turtles for the UK, Extreme Commando Turtles.

Raphael: Extreme Commando (http://www.ninjaturtles.com/toys/2004/raph/xcommando.html)
Michelangelo: Extreme Commando (http://www.ninjaturtles.com/toys/2004/mike/xcommando.html)
Donatello: Extreme Commando (http://www.ninjaturtles.com/toys/2004/don/xcommando.html)

Wow. Just... wow.

I take back all the complaints I had about Baxter. Those are easily 100 times worse.

Playmates, I promise I'll buy a Baxter if you stop this insanity before it starts.

When are they out? Where I am we've only just got the extreme sports turtles... :x (and in some places Casey and April :D )

But they look kinda okay...but the originals will be super cool

Come on guys. We all knew this was gonna happen. Let the kids waste their money on repaints just like we all did with the old line! :D

Yeah but we haven't even got the originals in the UK yet so it's not really a rip off for us.

I don't know about the repaints here in the U.S., but I saw some of the Fightin' Gear Turtles at my local Wal-Mart Supercenter the other day (the ones that have the DVDs in them), and I don't know if they're repaints, or not. How can I tell, for sure? Just curious.

Those recolours KICK ASS. I want them. I'd rather have them than the original versions.

Some of you folks seem so upset with the very principal of there being recolours. Wake up, people! This IS the toy industry!

I have to say I enjoy those repaintings. They appear to be better than the original figures. Leaves me to wonder what sort of recolors we Americans will recieve...

And what of Nippon? I may be moving to Japan in the near future, and wish to know if the TMNT figure series is/will be available within that country.

Aren't these just the British versions of the Fightin' Gear Turtles?

TheRATKING
06-21-2004, 09:17 PM
yes

KROW
06-21-2004, 09:27 PM
Thought so.

So why all the griping about repaints of figures we already have that we won't have to buy? Are there really so many mad collectors out there?

TheRATKING
06-21-2004, 09:29 PM
yea there are quite a few of them out there

KROW
06-21-2004, 09:32 PM

Aaron

I actualy don't think those look THAT bad. Although I am going to pass on them.

KROW
06-21-2004, 09:36 PM
Well, you can't get them unless you live in the UK. Do you live in the UK, Aaron? :)

No, I could probably find them on E-bay if I wanted to though.

KROW

Well, why go to e-bay to get them if you said you'll pass on them? Seems like a waste of time to me. No offense. :)

You asked if I lived in the UK since that is the only place to buy them. I said no and that the only place I would be able to find them is on e-bay. I was answering your question.

I'm a "mad" collector.....But I like to call myself a completist, so I'm gonna have to get these. I'll leave them MOC, tho. Like I did with the special edition Space Hoppin TMNT.

I hope you don't think I'm an idiot by asking this, cqb101, but, what's "MOC" mean?

Nothing....Cuz by then I'll either give them to a son/nephew or I won't care about them anymore.

The figures themselves are awesome. The armour may look goofy, but you can just take the stuff off, and you're left with some damn nice super-poseable figures. They've got 17 points of articulation, in comparison to the 9 points on the original figures - very cool.

Buy y'know, if you really think they're that "stupid", nobody's forcing you to buy them, or even look at them. Just get what you like, and ignore the rest. :tthumbsu:

So you can take those goofy looks helmet off too? Because that would be pretty cool if it has 17 points

Have these been released yet? Can anyone from the UK let me know if they've seen them? :)

Yes, the helmets come off too, all the armor does. The expressions aren't as good as the first Turtles, the finger articulation is a bit annoying, and they don't have the paint wash that the first ones did, but in every other way the Fightin' Gear Turtles are better than the first ones.
