In addition to Gen, we also got the design sketches for the Rabbit Bodyguard himself. Here he is, ladies and gentlemen. I really like the look for him so far. I would have preferred that both of his feet were flat on the surface. A more neutral pose might have been a better choice, instead of sculpting him posed on the toes of his left foot. But regardless of that, I'm really looking forward to Usagi. Hopefully we'll see even more characters from Usagi's world in the toon and toys. Maybe Laird will even allow them to use Ninjara as a native from Usagi's world. :)

I really don't like the spring action feature in Usagi... but at least it's button activated unlike Casey Jones.

Uh, why is Usagi called Miyamoto Usagi in the design sheet? I suppose they could've changed his name for his appearance in the new series, but I see no logic in that at all.

Miyamoto IS his name. He's named after the great legendary swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi, a real life samurai from back in the day who wrote the Book of 5 Rings.

Sayonara.

Miyamoto IS his name.

Really? Well I obviously didn't know that. I haven't read any Usagi comics, but I guess I'd always just assumed his name was Usagi Yojimbo.

I will definitely buy Usagi when it's released. I have the original one from the 80s, with all the weapons.

Aren't they making figures of The Book Of Five Rings? I saw on Action-Figure.com that there are going to be figures from some kind of old Jappanese story.

BOTH the old ones? Um, I think I have the first one. What does the second release look like? I may have seen it before.

There is a Space Usagi and a regular Usagi.

Oh, I remember now.
No, I don't have the Space Usagi. I thought it was ridiculous.

I used to have one but I lost him. I alway liked him. I just think he looks neat.

He's not ridiculous....I mean, there WAS a Space Usagi comic.

And I also think he's a far better figure than the regular Usagi......He's just done a lot better.

No offense.
Hmmm. I never knew of the Space Usagi comic. Now that I know there is one, the toy doesn't seem so ridiculous, now. I'll take back my previous comment.

Ya, if you like Usago definately try and track down one. He's right up there with Ace Duck and the movie star turles as my favorite vintage figures.

Ace Duck. I remember that! Oh, man!
I think I have it still. I also remember that they released a variant of Ace where his hat fit better. Mine is the first release where the hat always falls off.
