Pierce Brosnan as James Bond.

Alot of people don't realise this, but Timothy Dalton originally signed up to do three Bond films. But apparently EON (Everything or Nothing) paid him not to return in GoldenEye. Why you may ask? Five years before GoldenEye was made, the network ran a animated show called James Bond Jr, a TV series loosely based on the novel of 1967. The show starred James Bond's nephew who coincidentally looked similiar to Pierce Brosnan, the next actor the play 007.

There is of course a possibility that James Bond Jr was modelled on Brosnan, back in 1987 Brosnan was offered the role of Bond but was unavalible so the role was turned over to Timothy Dalton. Perhaps they decided to model 007's nephew on a Bond actor that (At the time) never was.

Anyways, the theory goes Pierce Brosnan was hired to play Bond in GoldenEye as an atempt to capitalise on the success of the TV Show.

Personally, I like Pierce Brosnan. He's really good in all of his Bond films, I just find one problem with the newer ones. Technology has been so advanced as of late, that the villains in the new ones threaten the world with a weapon that could be found today. I liked it when the villains threatened the world with some weapon that could never even be thought of.

Sean Connery was the best Bond, though.

Zarius you miss understand. I never said James Bond Jr was based on Casino Royale, I said it was based on the James Bond Jr novel. Back in 1967 there was a novel called "The Adventures of James Bond Jr 003 1/2" It was about 007's nephew, the son of Captain David Bond. The TV shows bares no resemblence to the novel of 1967, and quite frankly I can find no evidence in any of the Bond films to deney the possibility of James Bond having a nephew, Felix Leiter having a California Beach Boy as a son, and Q having a boy-genius as a grandson. Plus, the Aston Martin DB5 was destroyed in the TV show. Maybe that's why the car in GoldenEye seen onwards has a different licence plate...

I'm simply pointing out how Brosnan looks a little like James Bond Jr. I have nothing against Brosnan, I like him as Bond, but I think George Lazenby is the best.

And yes, for once I agree with you, the Casino Royale movie was a complete a utter piece of garbage, an insult to the book, it's almost as bad as Die Another Day.
