Being that we have another "The Simpsons" thread going, I wanted to start this one.

So, which is your favorite "The Simpsons" episode?

Mine is from Season 9... "The City of New York vs. Homer"

After a night of drinking, Barney is the designated driver, and end up driving Homer's car all the way to New York, where it is booted. Homer gets a letter in the mail some time later with a notice to go get his vechicle. And off they go. Hilarity soon ensues.

The X-files one. Too many funny lines to mention. "Everything you just saw was true. And by true I mean it was a complete lie. But it was an interesting lie. And isn't that what really matters?"

1. "Behind the Laughter", this was such a great effective and original method of paroding "Behind the Music", making the Simpsons stars in their own little world...Homer's reaction to his mansion beinng re-possed was heartbreakingly funny.

2. Who Shot Mr. Burns Parts 1 and 2: THIS was "The Simpsons" at their near finest hour, the build up to the resolution following the cliffhanger was great with the spoof "Who Shot J.R?" Phony endings, the final revelation is still one of the most hilarious moments of the show

3. Lisa's Substitue: One great example about the Simpsons, even now when it's utter crap, is that Lisa has always remained THE greatest character on the show period, she's given some of the most emotional episodes and all the credit goes to Yeardly Smith for making this the finest Lisa episode ever with her peformances, it really brought home a lot of issues regarding family tolerance and parodied "The Graduate" in the only way possible....with Edna Krupbabel

4. The Private War of Lisa Simpson: Another Lisa episode, one of the last Simpsons episodes to balance emotion AND comedy on a QUALITY basis.

5. Blood Feud: Proof that you can do an episode with no real plot, one of the greatest moments ever came with this one

Homer: Hello, my name is Mr. Burns, I beleive you have a letter for me

Official: Ok Mr. Bruns, what's your first name?

Homer: ....I don't know.

the episode where homer has a website "I don't know anything, at least i think i don't" or "Help me, Mr. X... Oh no, I'm Mr. X, I'm doomed" or Rod and Tod in bed having high fever and stuttering "I c-c-can see mommy"

I just love that ep

I just love that ep

"The Computer Wore Menace Shoes"

The only reason I like that epsiode was that it parodied "The Prisoner", aside from that the first fifteen mintues sucked major donkey

and i especially loved homer's first website. and the police one "so have commited a crime but you are not willing to admit it. an officer is on his way to your house"

or when homer first "uses" the computer: "Computer, kill Flanders" that was so funny and then when Flanders appears "Good work computer, now finish the job"

what's the name of that episode in english btw.?

My favourites:

Flaming Moes
Homer at the Bat
Lisa the Greek (My fav. Lisa episode. Just, really nice family moments that made the Simpsons great, and good humour to boot)
Dancin' Homer
Homer's Enemy (Frank Grimes > all)
Bart the Murderer (what's a truck? Don't play dumb with me!)
The Last Temptation of Krust (Don't you hate pants?)
The Joy of Sect (It's good to think for ourselves again. You are watching Fox. We are watching Fox. Homer no function, beer well without. And...NANANANAN, BATMAN! I mean, LEADER!)
Mother Simpson (emotional family stuff right here, balanced with comedy)
My Sister, My Sitter (Bart at his worst [in the good way])
Worst Episode Ever (You've had a cardiac episode. Worst, episode, EVER!)
Any Sideshow Bob episode.

I think that every episode from Season One to Season 8 is hilarious though, you can't go wrong watching anything from those seasons. There's alot of good stuff post season 8 too, but it was kinda hit or miss. My fav. Season is probably 3. Every episode was top notch, and it balanced the realistic family moments and the comedy really well. Plus, there's some real classics in there, like Homer at the Bat, Flaming Moes, Lisa the Greek, Lisa's Pony, ect.

EDIT: Forgot Missionary: Impossible. That's a really funny episode. 'Elmo knows where you live!' 'But I don't even believe in Jeebus...Save me Jeebus!' 'Dad, are you licking toads? I'm not not licking toads!' 'Congratulations Bart Simpson, you saved Fox. Wouldn't be the first time!'

Best one ever was when Bart shook the beer can as an April fools joke, and put Homer into a coma

My favorite was the one where Bart discovered the comet heading towards Springfield and everyone was freaking out over it so they piled into Ned Flanders' bomb shelter.

Then it turned out that all the pollution made from the Nuclear Power Plant actually saved them by melting the comet to nothing but a rock the size of a chihuahua's head (as Homer himself predicted)

I forget the title, but my favorite is the one where the Y2K bug hits, the world gets destroyed, and all the smart people get put in a rocket ship to another planet, while all the idiots get shot twords the sun. The ending was priceless. If I had to hear that singing, I'd probobly jump out into space too.

The first one that came to my mind was the episode where Homer gets a job at another nuclear plant, now working for a terrorist madman called Scorpio. Homer of course remains clueless till the end. In a wonderfully bizarre scene Scorpio is fighting against a special unit with grenades and a flame thrower when Homer comes into his HQ and tells him that he quits because his family doesn't like their new home (even then he does't get anything  ).
"Homer, could you kill a few people when you leave the room?"

Marge vs. The Monorail holds a dear place in my heart. Plus, it was written by Conan O' Brian.

Never saw that. I've stopped watching the Simpson's awhile back. I'd gladly watch the old reruns, however.

Homer: Gasp! Adam West! [calling] Kids! Batman!
Lisa: Dad, that's not the real Batman.
Adam West: Of course I'm the real Batman. [shows a glossy]
See, here's a picture of me with Robin.
Bart: Who the hell is Robin?
Adam West: I see, you kids are only familiar with the new Batman movies. Michelle Pfeiffer? Ha! The only true Catwoman is Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, or Eartha Kitt. And how come Batman doesn't dance anymore? Do you kids remember the Batusi? [Dances the Batusi]
Homer: [Pulls kids away] Back away slowly, don't make eye contact.

Nope, it's the one with David Hyde Pierce as Cecil, Sideshow Bob's brother. The one with Jay Sherman is called 'A Star is Burns.'

Sideshow Bob was voiced by Kelsey Grammer aka Frasier.
Sideshow Bob's brother, Cecil, was voiced by David Hyde Pierce, who plays Frasier's brother, Niles.

I really loved Mr. Plow. That scene where Barney repetedly bashes the cardboard standee of Homer. ANd the Adam west scene someone mentioned earlier.

I also liked the Mr. Sparkle episode, though the subplot about the Mr. Sparkle thing was the only memorable part of the show....

But anything from the fiurst 3 seasons kicks butt.

I also must add "Last Exirt to Springfield" Where Lisa needs braces

ooo I have the first three seasons, but I think my fav eps are actually not from any of them...

I love the ep where Homer gets a hair transplant from a murderer. ;)
I also like all the McBain shows that pop up from time to time within the show.

I've never seen the ep with the Smashing Pumpkins ("Homerpalooza"?), but I'm sure that will top my list when I do.

The Worst Episode of the Simpsons is that one episode where they peek into the future for a second time, the first time it was sweet and stuff but the second time with lisa as President Sucked Ass

Wasn't that the one where Bart was in some casino and it showed him and someone else living together, he's trying to play music? I didn't like that one either O.o
