View Full Version : What are your favorit Comic books? (Manga's count)

Naruto

For me my favorit comic books are

1. TMNT (Even though I only read one comic of it)
2. Naruto
3. Hunter x Hunter
4. Street Fighter (even though I only read one comic of it)

Those are my favorit comics that I have read and enjoyed very much. What comics do you guys like?

05-14-2004, 09:32 AM
Naruto is a trashy manga/anime, to be honest. It's way too overhyped, and there's a lot of mangas/animes like it.

Love Hina is my favorite manga.
Spiderman is my favorite comic.

I love reading Simson comics, Justice League (the one based on the cartoon) and both Teen Titan series.

Isn't Manga like a comic book version of Anime or something?

my favorites are batman, superman and witchblade.

Shut up, Matt. You know what a manga is. It's a Japanese comic book, or a graphic novel.

Ah, you know... I loved Generation X... And I'm still so TICKED over what they did to Skin.

That was the last X-Men comic I read, was the one where they visited the grave site. I won't buy X-Men anymore after that, I'm sorry...

Ugh. And I so loved it, too...

Hmm greatest comics out there are:

US-Material

- John Carpenter's the SNAKE PLISSKEN chronicles: The greatest hero of all time is back!!!
- Lobo: The main man rocks whatever he does
- Young Justice: great heroes, differnt characters, good writing/art
- Teen Titans (the new series): I like the part with Robin, how long does he want to go on with "that"?
- Violent Messiahs: Life can be sooo nasty and simply evil
- The Outsiders: The old Titans have grown up
- Hitman: Tommy Monaghan, the best killer there is, and awesome art
- Emma Frost: Smallville, but very different
- Urban shogun: the best drawn non-funny webcomic there is www.urbanshogun.com

Manga

- BLAME!: Very different and confusing
- Eden - it's an endless world: and a very cruel one too
- Genzo: That guy gives me the creeps
- Outlaw Star: too bad they only made 3 books
- Meitantei conan: brilliant stories
- The Big O

Y the last Man... brodie's right. it kicks booty.

HELLBLAZER.... too mature for most of you, but i like what i like.

FABLES... god the vertigo line of DC rocks my world.

TWO STEP... 3 issues long... keeping WANGS away from GANGS, Something about a web-cam girl, a Zen hitman and a stolen penis.
... god i love warren ellis.

The ULTIMATES... usually i'm not a "big dumb heroes" kinda person... but the ultimates conclusion sealed it. wonderful read!

WANTED... 3 issues out of 6 and it's still going HOT... but millar better not **** it up.

VEILS... gooooo VERTIGO!!!

Sandman... one of these days i'm gonna get to READ THEM ALL, DAMMIT!!

I'm not too big into comics or manga. Of course I love the TMNT comics, but I have to say my favorite comic series is "Cerebus". Written by Dave Sim, it began in 1977, and just ended last year with issue #300. Cerebus is an aardvark! The series began as a parody of Conan the Barbarian but became so much more. And the coolest thing is that Cerebus was in issue #8 of Vol. 1 TMNT comics!

I know it's a crime to say that nowadays but I loved the Jackal, the Scarlet Spider and Ben Reilly as Spider-Man. It was after Ben died when the series got really crappy. Aunt May coming back was probably the worst comic book story ever told and John Byrne and Howard Mackie should be boiled in oil for it.

Right now, my favorite comic series is Street Fighter. If you like the Street Fighter games, GET THIS FREAKIN' COMIC. NOW. It's the best thing to happen to Street Fighter since Street Fighter II the animated movie.. And believe it or not, it's actually worlds beyond SFII:TAM.

You don't know about that? You would have loved it. After a year being Spider-Man Marvel decided that Ben wasn't good any more so they brought Norman Osborn as Green Goblin back. He actually never died but just seemed to be dead. Due to his superhuman healing powers his heart healed and he hid in Europe for five years (ridiculous fact #1). Then he came back to NY and revealed that he paid Seward Traíner to manipulate Peter's and Ben's DNA test (this was hilarious since Seward didn't do that test, Ben and Pete did.) so they'd think that Ben is the real Peter Parker (ridiculous fact #2). Ben eventually died, sacrificing his life to rescue Peter from Norman's glider (that was just sad  ).
Before Marvel restarted the Spider-Man titles another bomb was revealed. You remember the awesome Amazing Spider-Man #400? The one where Aunt May died? One of the most touching Spider-Man books ever? Well, it wasn't Aunt May who died there, it was an actress paid by Norman to trick Peter and Ben who just looked like Aunt May. The real Aunt may was kidnapped by Norman (ridiculous fact #3-1812371274981284). Typing these lines I again feel the urge to kill everyone behind this stuff. What the ****ing hell were those morons thinking???
Anyway, I haven't touched any regular Spider-Man books since then and I won't do so in the future. They totally ruined it for me.

That whole part of Spider-Man history destroyed it for me. When I read that...I was just...I stopped reading. I literally spit on the comic. It was just terrible. I stopped reading for a long while.
