View Full Version : What video game are you currently "into"?

The purpose of this thread is pretty obvious. What game are you currently "into"? I'm not asking what your favorite video game is, I'm just asking what game you're crazy about at this moment.

At the moment, I'm "into" Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, though I'm starting to slowly lose interest in it. It's the only RPG I've ever liked. While the combat can irritate me at times I still think it's a great game.

And I've spent about one hundred hours total playing it, in the two weeks that I've had it. :goofygri:

I'm not currently crazy about any new game at the moment, but I have been playing Metroid Prime lately for the 6th time. I'm close to getting 100% item collection. Now there's a real good 3D adaptation to an original 2D side-scroller.

Yeah, right now is kind of a slow time, so there's no game I'm totally obsessed with at the moment. I'm playing Final Fantasy X right now, with an occasional round of Pikmin or Mario Kard DD thrown in.

It's REALLY slow for me, considering I can't get any of the current video game consoles. I've got a normal Playstation and a Dreamcast. But as for games I'm playing? ...man...er....that'd be alot x.X

I just bought a fellow graduating friend a copy of the Diablo II Battle Chest, so we've been playing that together quite a bit.

Also, I had $50 gift card from CompUSA that I just spent the other day on Return to Castle Wolfenstein for my Mac (And the Matrix Revolutions DVD) so I've been playing that.

In between all of this, I randomly select a Dreamcast game out of the 50-something I have. Mostly I've been playing Rez quite a bit.

The games i like and love are the following

1. Megaman Battle Network games
2. Any Zelda games other then that last horrible one that game cube had
3. Some of the FF games.(Not a big fan but they fun to play time to time)
4. Strategy games. All strategy games are my favorit. such as
1. Starcraft
2. War Crafts
3. Civilization (The new one rocks!)
5. I like Half life games such as Counter strike and DOD
6. The new unreal tournment game.
7. (The most ultimate LAN and Net games ever!) Rainbow six Ghost reacon and Rainbow six the 3rd one that came out. (Only for computers)

Well thats all i can think of for now. They are awsome games. I am not a game geek because i dont play to often. I play one game and move to the next or just play for a bit and take long breaks. I recomend Ghost reacon for a LAN party. Best game ever for one of those LAN parties

Maybe you know something about this, but why is it that despite the game's popularity, they never made SoTN 2 and instead focused on making those 3d games? I'm sure another sidescrolling exploration game would have sold quite nicely.

05-19-2004, 10:16 AM
The only reason I can think of right now is because that would be a good idea, and God forbid Konami makes another good game.

Question for you Castlevania fans:

Is "Dracula X" part of that series or not?

Not to my knowledge, no, but I could be wrong.

Toad64
05-19-2004, 12:14 PM
Well, Dracula X *did* star a Belmont family member, and it sports the Castlevania name, so it's Castlevania. But it's kind of the forgotten Castlevania. As far as whether it's considered canon to the storyline, that i don't know.

btw, some people complained about the recent Castlevania games, and thought I'd point to the three recent GBA games. I have Circle of the Moon, the first one, and the third one is supposed to be fantastic. Sure, it's not on a current home console, but it's still 2D Castlevania in the style of SotN.

05-19-2004, 12:16 PM
All 3 of the GBA Castlevanias are really, REALLY good, I'll have to admit. I was just a little dissatisfied with Lament of Innocence. I don't know, it just felt kind of repetitive.

Voltron
05-19-2004, 12:29 PM
Castlevania! UGH! Just give me another side scroller with Alucard, dammit! I wouldn't be surprised if the whole of Konami's staff has to wear bicycle gear throughout the day.

You must be talking about the Japanese game. Technically, Dracula X of Japan is the same as Castlevania X everywhere else. The only thing is, Dracula X is a better version of that game, with more levels and more than one playable character. But yes, they both fit into the storyline, preceeding SoTN. SoTN even mentions that game in its intro text.

I watched that 15 minute trailer as well, and man...it was a lot better than I expected. I thought the no radar and live off snakes was going to make me lose interest due to the difficulty, but the whole game graphically and story make up for all of that stuff. I can't wait for Snake Eater.

I'm into Mario Kart DD at the moment. It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be, since as a huge Nintendo fan I've been constantly disappointed by Nintendo's 2nd rate Gamecube games. Mario Sunshine was a joke compared to 64 (especially the with ridiculous final 'battle' with Bowser) and on the Zelda front, Wind Waker was okay but no where near as good as Ocarina. In fact the only reason I originally bought it was to get the Ocarina bonus disc.

I just got the Halo Special Edition Xbox last week, so I've been playing Halo since then. I actually beat the game on Normal just the other day. I'm gonna try my hand at the Legendary difficulty, but I've heard it's practically impossible. The next game I plan to tackle is Ninja Gaiden. I've only played the first level of it so far, so I've got a long way to go.

Before I got my Xbox last week, I was playing MGS2 for PS2. I've beaten that game about 4 or 5 times now. I'm working on getting all the dog tags in the Extreme difficulty level since I have all of them for the other difficultly levels. I've had that game about as long as I've had my PS2, but it's still so much fun to sneak up behind people and snap their neck.
