This was my favorite thread from the old forum, so I figured I should start it again. There is one difference though.

Instead of only being the "what are you listening to" thread, it is now also the all around music thread. Discuss bands, genres, songs, albums, and whatever else you want to.

SO, get started.

I don't really have a "favorite" band or artist. But...most of the time I listen to anything that'll make me agressive. (metal, rock you name it). And sometimes when I take walks or when I feel like relaxing, I like to listen to 80s music, just to feel nostalgic. :)

I haven't picked that one up yet, but I am a huge Static X fan. The one song I heard had kind of an Alice In Chainsy touch to it... which is a good thing.

As for HIM, HIM Pwnz j00 all. I really like "Lose you tonight".

Guttermouth - My Girlfriend

I love Guttermouth and all their older albums but I've been listening to their "Gusto" album quite a bit. All the punkers say it sucks because it isn't "punk enough" but I like it for that exact reason. They just have such random genres to the various songs and all of them are catchy. Poor Guttermouth makes this cd and they get crapped on by the punk music critics. They won't even sell the album on their site OR play any of the songs in concert, which is total BS as far as I'm concerned.

Shadow Zone is a good album. The sound reminds me of Korn on a few of the tracks, and the rest are purely Static X.

HIM??? What and who is this band? I've seen t-shirts with the name but I have no idea who they are. Do they get airplay or are they indie?? Can you describe their sound?

Well, I was a Bam fan before a fan of HIM. I had no interest in hearing them before, but then a relative of mine actually suggested I check them out. (He's not a fan of Bam or CKY, he just like music like that) So I did. and I actually liked what I heard so I stuck with them after that.

I do imagine there are people out there that only like HIM because of Bam though. There has to be. But they probably are the type that think HIM only has one album.

I like the slower one better.

I like the 666 remix best - it has a little something extra. More guitar. Is that the one you thought I'd pick?

I liked HIM before I really even knew Bam. He just happens to have good taste in music, can't fault dude for that. But I see all these people breaking their ankles to jump on the HIM bandwagon and it's kinda sad.
It's like when I see people doing it for The Clash or Orgy or some other band that just rips but they haven't heard of until some 'cool person' likes them.
Then it's all the rage. Sick, sad world.

They did, for all the good that would do.
Believe me, dude, I loved Kurt too, I really did (he and Nirvana, were the reasons I started playing music); it's hard to wrap your mind around why someone you love - someone so great - would off themselves.
But he was in a weird, bad place when he did it, and with the brain damage on top of that, you can see it. I mean, even just reading the suicide note, you can see how it changes at the end, becomes different like he is writing from another place within himself.
I think Courtney helped to drive him there, helped a lot, but in the end it was his hand on the gun. I believe that like I believe you need air to breathe.
I didn't know him (though it's weird, sometimes I felt like I really did because of what I knew about him, and listening to him pour his heart and soul out in his songs) so I don't know if Kurt was really the type of person to kill himself. But I do know that some of the people I know who've done it, where not the type of people. Sometimes they were sad, but over all they never mentioned it and it was just such a shock because you didn't see it coming from people who had so much and seemed so into living.
But yeah.
