Nah, this was the one casting that was spot-on. He just needed the pink shirt with a tie.

Either that or make it obvious that "April" is back doing the journalism thing and turn him into actual competition.

The whole "Falcon" thing kind of set him up for being self centered and interested in his own fame... just roll with it and maybe an opportunity he thinks he can't lose makes him far too tempted to possibly betray the Turtles and out them to the larger public in the process.

Yeah, Matt Damon could play him.

I'm with Indigo on this one. I liked him well enough, but he needs to become April's competition and "nemesis" like he was in the OT. Maybe he could be a little resentful of the turtles taking away his credit and taking so much of April's attention, etc.

I agree. If someone asked me should Eminem be in TMNT3? I would say absolutely yes but only one shot one opportunity for him.

I could definitely see that angle; "The Falcon" becoming unhappy at having to give it up. Or the Turtles growing increasingly annoyed with him because he won't stop, they find it wrong to keep misleading people, he excuses it as avoiding being questioned 'for their sake' if the public noticed he suddenly stopped, and they feel he's using their need to stay out of the public eye and inability to step forward to his advantage because "what are they gonna do." (Then his ass gets into major trouble and they reluctantly have to save him, eventually leading to a newfound respect for them.)

Or you could just... y'know... cut him out of the movie completely.

i was kind of hoping for the character to just get killed off

I like him as BoJack Horseman, but he just isn't funny as Vern. Sorry.

In the cartoon I don't think Vernon was ever intended to be gay. Remember it was an 80's cartoon, back then gay characters were a no-go especially in kids shows.

He wasn't real world gay, he was stereotype gay. Re-watch any episode with him, you'll see. Ultra flamboyant Liberace.

Or alternately just a complete whiny sissy who grew up so spoiled and coddled that he can't really deal with life as an adult. I could have bought him having rich parents who made sure everything was done for him and bought his way through journalism school and into that job, and now that it's up to him he's floundering and desperate to outshine April, which he never succeeds at on his own.


Shame these films weren't worth a whole series of them, now that they got Vern fame hungry and could have gone somewhere with that.
