The Technodrome Turns 18!

Today is not only Halloween, it is also The Technodrome's eighteenth anniversary! We really appreciate all of our contributors and visitors over the years.

This month, to help ensure that The Technodrome is around for many more years to come, the main site and other related sites have all been moved to a new web host (this does not include the forums, which are already on a separate hosting plan that has been working well for them). Everything should be up and running, but please let me know if you encounter any issues.

I also apologize for not having much time lately to devote to the forums. In the coming months, I will be working on things that need attention there, such as validating new members.

Thank you, everyone, for your support!

Woohoo! The pink and squishy overlord graces us with his presence on this most festive occasion. :tcool:

Congratulations!

How about a board upgrade?

Utrommaniac 10-31-2017 03:02 PM

Does anyone even use the main site anymore?

Anyway, it's pretty awesome that it's still going strong.

Sumac 10-31-2017 03:03 PM

Happy Anniversary!

Lurking on this forum since 2003, very nice to see this place still going.

I really, really doubt it. But what do I know?

So the drome is now legal. Just think of all the people who were kids or not even born yet when this forum came to existence.

I also love how this place still looks like it's from 2001, like it hasn't changed at all in 15 years of modern internet technology. I feel like I'm "back in time" when I come here...like it's the early 2000's all over again.

Utrommaniac 10-31-2017 03:28 PM

All things considered, it does translate pretty well onto modern screens and not look dated, like it would be on the Big Square Clunkers from the time of its birth, where others don't.

It's like Sigourney Weaver in how well it ages :P

The 'Drome can finally have a beer

Happy 18th!

Happy Birthday!

CyberCubed 10-31-2017 04:22 PM

Fun Fact: The drome came out in 1999 when the internet was still practically in its infancy, no social media existed, youtube did not even exist, and sites like geocities/tripod sites and fanrings were all the rage.

It's like the "prehistoric age" of the internet. To think even an old person like me was only around 14 when this site came out says a lot in itself.

ProphetofGanja 10-31-2017 04:43 PM

Happy Birthday, Technodrome, have a drink on me!

Utrommaniac 10-31-2017 05:17 PM

Not in 'Murica it ain't!

Powder 10-31-2017 05:22 PM

Happy birthday to my favorite place on the internet. Love you guys.

It's kind of funny when you realize there are probably less than 50 active members here, and the literally hundreds of people here from 2000 till now either moved on or left.

The forums were definitely more active when the 4kids TMNT cartoon was airing in the early 2000's. But I guess that's also because social media didn't really exist back then, people still came to traditional forums.

Happy 18th honey. I heard that you're legal now.

Yeah, don't mind me too much. Regardless, Happy 18th to this place.

TheCanadiandrome 10-31-2017 09:27 PM

Congrats on another year

DestronMirage22 10-31-2017 10:12 PM

Happy Anniversary to the best forum on Earth! :D

Sadly, not in the US, but I'm sure by now it would've snuck a beer from one of its parents or its friend's parents.

Coola Yagami 11-02-2017 12:06 AM

The forum is finally legal. Hell, I'll sneak it a few beers. I'm sure noone would complain about a giant Death Star on Tank Treads downing a few brewskis.
