Thoughts on Vaporwave?
 

Vaporwave basically is electronic music with influences of elevator music, art pop, smooth jazz and other genres.

It has a very nostalgic feeling to it with its art style and its appreciation for Japanese animation and video games.

I just listened to a track by Blank Banshee, one of the biggest vaporwave artists out there, and it had the Windows 95 start up tune in it!

Like Synthwave, vaporwave really likes the 80s and 90s the some degree as well. It's another evidence of how nostalgia seems to be a strong feel and a common thing on the internet this decade.

So far, I dug the stuff I listened to. it's catchy and it's msotly independent artists who share their music for free on youtube and bandcamp, I think. Not to mention they're available on Spotify as well. So can't say I complain.

And the art can be so sweet. Like this one for example:



This is so GTA Vice City or 80s anime like.
