"Odyssey"

This "teaser trailer" may give you some idea of the general tone and story of "Odyssey," which Jim Lawson is doing the majority of.

Or watch it direct here:

*edit: and the "full" trailer here:

*edit: new trailer:

It'll be about 110 pages, and the method of release is undecided. If you'd like to see it on shelves, maybe let IDW know. :)

The team: There's some work from Arseniy/DemonAlukard (who has very generously given a lot of his own money to help keep the momentum of pages coming from Jim... we're pretty much partners in this, at this point) in it, Angie Sternitzke is doing some painting and CGI work for her two pages, Mark Feltham is doing a page (toned by Courtland Brugger/sabacooza), and there's a pretty important page from Tokka in it near the end. And of course the Dan Berger 3 page prologue. Cover (which is not a wraparound) is pencilled by Rick McCollum and inked by Bill Anderson ("Twilight of the Ring," "Juliet's Revenge").

I wanna say that was the logo Mirage used for later issues of volume 4. Yeah...staring with issue 28.

Matches Malone 03-16-2012 01:31 AM

Very nice! 90 pages is almost a graphic novel! If one believes in such things...

AquaParade 03-16-2012 01:38 AM

Has this been discussed on the Drome before? I am so...stoked.

Samhain 03-16-2012 03:06 AM

Yeah, then they used the regular one for 29, and went back to that "new one" for 30.

Cowabunga Carl 03-16-2012 08:16 AM

This looks like it would be great. I'd love to see this happen.

ToTheNines 03-16-2012 08:46 AM

I started a thread over at the IDW boards. http://forum.idwpublishing.com/viewt...8bbe080c014311

You had me at "Hello."

Donnie 03-16-2012 10:55 AM

Awesome!!! Sign me up. Love the NM Mikey still at 1:21.

This looks epic...

Powder 03-16-2012 12:24 PM

Slash & NM Mikey were new sights to me. AWESOME ONES. Got a chill at the end, and ALMOST a bit teary, realizing this is not only going to be sort of an end to the Mirage universe but most likely a literal end, too. Odds are Pete won't wrap things up, after all...

Venom 03-16-2012 12:30 PM

This teaser cause me to utter an audible "Whooaaa." :)

I can't wait for orders to begin, via official sources or not!

Please, please hone the dialogue so it flows smoothly and feels natural to whomever is speaking.

Nice inclusion of Slash in the group shot before the reveal a few seconds later! I was like, "Is that - it is!" :D

Bitcheth I may at forced dialogue, but supporteth I stand behind thee. 8)

As I've written elsewhere, this isn't intended to be a Volume 4 ending. Unless there's a huge time jump in the final couple of issues of Volume 4, the events in Odyssey take place long, long after Volume 4 and in no way try to "fill in" or replace any kind of conclusion Peter intends to make in that, whenever he intends to make it (or "if").
