Why the flip does Sonic need a car? Part 2 - Because it's awesome
http://kotaku.com/5884388/start-your...-racing-sequel
A sequel to the surprisingly good Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (many, myself included, preferred it over Mario Kart Wii) has been confirmed. One can only hope it's as good, if not better, than the original. Hopefully they'll get even more obscure with the roster, and maybe this time actually get Segata Sanshiro in. |
Sold, and sold.

Sounds promising.
|
Well, I know where my money is going.:tcool: I wonder if Nights will be in it? Not that it will matter really for me since I can pretty much guarantee that I will be playing as Sonic. But I still hope the flying jester is more than just the referee this time around.
|
I loved the first game, it was so awesome! Can't wait for this game!
|
PLEEEEEEEEASE have Sam from Vanquish sliding around on his knees. Please!
|
I played so much of the first one and this excites me to no end. I hope they really dig and pull out some fantastic stuff for characters and tracks. The first game was way too heavy on a handful of franchises where levels were concerned.
Also, yes. Platinum Games characters up in this sh*t please! |

Personally, anything that gives NiGHTS a cameo gets bonus points in my book. And when I learned Shenmue was a playable character in the first game, I got giddy. My only major disappointment was that ToeJam & Earl couldn't join the party. Also, the framerate was a little clunky on the Wii, but that's no surprise. |

Shenmue isn't a person. |

Anyway, did Ryo get to drive his forklift around in the first game? I figured it might have been unlockable. Consequently, my Shenmue experience on Dreamcast primarily consisted of getting the allowance money every morning and running down to the arcade to waste it away on trinkets and games. |
I think the forklift ended up being super over-priced DLC.

Toejam and earl.

Sega doesn't own the rights to the ToeJam and Earl characters anymore and I doubt they'd make the effort to license them from the guy who does to make reference to a franchise that, quite frankly, was never very good to begin with and ended up even worse following the disaster that was TJ&E 3. I do believe his dev house went down the sh*tter though, so maybe he'd give it up for a song.

Awesome news, only thing is for what systems?
|
Wouldn't need to stretch our brain muscles too hard to figure that one out.

With Sony throwing money everywhere for exclusive characters now, the PS3 and Vita versions would likely be the only ones to get exclusives... unless that's just for fighting games. I dunno, ideally, I'd like EVERY system to have an exclusive character if they were going that route.
I'm not holding my breath for my favorite old-school Sega character, Psycho Fox, sadly. With his powers, he could be interesting to play, but it seems Sega has completely forgotten about him. |
It's just fighting games. It seems like it's the only genre that can ever get a leg up on 360 titles. Although those special characters don't seem to make up a whole lot of room sales wise.
Honestly, I feel like this last rash of "exclusive" characters that aren't even first-party characters borders on ridiculous. Kratos made sense in MK, none of the sh*t they're doing with SFXT does. Capcom has never had much sense, though. I have zero interest in more Capcom fighters, but I probably would have picked up SF X Tekken if I could play as awful Mega Man, but them making it exclusive to the PS3 immediately means I don't give a sh*t. And remember, the 360 version of All-Stars Racing had Banjo & Kazooie in it. |
Xbox fanboy much?
But yeah, if the freaking Bonanza Bros. were memorable enough to be in the first game, ToeJam & Earl isn't a stretch. |

I don't buy multiplat titles on ps3 because none of my friends play on ps3. Why the **** would I buy a game best played with friends on a system I cant play with my friends? I play a vastly diverse amount of **** than you ever have or ever will, so don't drop fanboy comments on me when you're the absolute worst example of one. |
Watch out, he might send you a PM about driving members away.

Gaming News
So, I guess it takes place during the American Revolution and stars a Native American assassin. Tomahawk assassinations sound beast!
http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0...v_228_v1_l.jpg I'm REALLY glad they took a complete left turn with the setting. Say what you want about enjoying AC2-2 and AC2-3, those games felt stale as f*ck and made my interest in a new title in the series drop to zero. That changes with such a radical setting change. Excited to see more about this now. |
Lookin forward to more info. Will be gettin this issue
|
I'm not even gonna lie, this looks just incredible. I'm already sold on the setting alone. I was wondering when the next one would take place, and they threw me completely off with this announcement. I wanna flintlock someone in the face!
|
I'm pretty excited for the tomahawk, too. And I think a bow is cooler than a crossbow.
|
I've had Zero interest since Revelations was announced, but this perks it up a little. I was really hoping for it to take place in Feudal Japan, but kinda gave up on that idea a while back. This seems pretty cool.
|
More "leaked" AC3 stuff. Screens that make it look like both a completely different game (all the outdoor wilderness stuff) and a screen that makes it seem EXACTLY like the other game with a new paint job.

The trailer is pretty sweet. Now I hear there's going to be 4-player co-op/multiplayer? I'm not sure which, but that's pretty ridiculous. It's a shame that AC will probably always have the same type of gameplay, which is fine, but can get rather stale. They should've slowed down with the releases. They caught that Call of Duty bug, unfortunately.

I know this probably doesn't really fall into the subject of this topic, but I didn't think making another topic for this would be necessary. Also, sorry if this has already been said, but it seems the Wii Version of Sonic 4: Episode 2 has been canceled. The 360 and PS3 Version's still seem ok. There still isn't a release date though.

Perhaps they are planning a re-release on the Wii U though. |
Without getting too into that debate, which I've already chimed in on in other threads, I will say that had the last AC game been Assassin's Creed 2, I'd be hyped through the roof right now. Ubisoft would have way less money though, so I suppose they win.
|
well i guess i'll get it on 360 then
|
Anyone preorder yet? I just did today!
|
I am currently playing through Revelations and I am rather dissapointed in it right now..... The multiplayer took a step back.
The gameplay feels restrictive and overcomplicated, the game doesnt flow as well as the previous. To me revelations took a step back from Brotherhood. Brotherhood was my favorite of the series, but I am glad we r finally getting a new assassin!!!! |

Since this is as close as we get to a news thread in this section - what the f*ck?
http://i.minus.com/ibjHpBgRhLshEu.gif I can't believe after all this time we finally get the full story on Gerstmann-gate and that this actually happened. Giant Bomb is easily the best video game website ever created, so I'm slightly apprehensive about the change. Seeing stuff like this is making me feel like I've been transported back to 2006. Remember when Gamespot was f*cking relevant? MAN! I was still at my first real job! |
