Lionsgate Announces a 'Season 3: Complete Set'
Previously available only as four separate single-disc titles, this July you can finally buy all 47 episodes together as a season set!
seriously, would there be anyone remotely interested? :ohwell: Taken from: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Tee...#ixzz2Rt86Temp |

I might be. The complete series sets seem to be OOP, while you can still find season sets in stores. They're probably trying to streamline that release to entice the casual buyer.
|
One interesting thing to note about this is Lionsgate is still interested in releasing Turtle DVDs though.
I wonder if eventually we'll see another re-release of a complete series set in proper order this time. |
Good ol' Lionsgate gotta keep milking that Turtle license!

Also, the downside to this being released is that other individual season sets are now out of print. Quote:

I will most likely get this, even if only to conserve space by getting rid of the old ones.
|
Just curious, will this still have the first episode of Season 4 on the last disc like the old Season 3 one had?

I have the Party Wagon set, does it include all the 47 episodes?

Not a bad time to milk the older fans in the midst of the Nickelodeon series looking for the classics, and this should sell well given that Season 3 seems to define what people expect out of the OT the most. With plenty of episodes for a long trip, along with clearing out some shelf space, its just more good promotion to the Turtles in general. In a way its like the Season 7 complete set that sold decently, yet was released only a few months after the last of the "slices". Now, I would have preferred a complete 4kids Season 3 set first (at least I have the region 4 sets).
|
Go away Lionsgate we don't want anymore of your mediocre releases.
|
The van set has all of S3 spread over 4 discs (D3-D6) exactly the same content as the slices. It covers the 48 episodes of that season, and I am sure that these, like every other disc in this set are just the original Lionsgate releases encoded onto new artworked discs (well, adding disc 1 thru disc 23 !)
The new release of S3 is strange, particularly after releasing the complete set. And, if that sold out so quickly, I would have thought that a reissue, or a second printing if you like, would have been the way to go. Anyway, it looks like some people here will be getting it. I would still like to see a release of the 2K3 series, which I would buy, even if I do have em all tucked away nicely on a computer or two already. |
This Season 3 set should have come out back in 2006.

Box art for the complete season 3

Artwork looks pretty cool. Looks like one of the VHS covers was the basis.
|
Well what do you know. This is what I wanted with season 3 in the first place. Good show.
|
Even though it's retraced VHS art, it's pretty cool!
|
The artwork is based upon the "Hot Rodding Teenagers" VHS release. The main differences are that the Turtles have pupils, the belts are brown instead of black, Don's colors are a darker purple, Leo's swords and Raph's sais are silver instead of orangish brown, and the belt initials are of a medium blue letter over a light blue background as opposed to the different colors on each belt. Also, props for not having to waste space to include "Plan 6 For Out Space."
|
"Hot Rodding Teenagers From Dimension X" with a poorly drawn facial expression on the turtles except for Leonardo.
Where was this back in the Fall of 2006?:trazz: It will be nice to see it on the shelves but I already have it even if the four disc are in four different cases just like with the seventh season. |
I wonder what Lionsgate will release after this? Perhaps a DVD that compiles Seasons 8-10 together as a Final Season set?
I can see that happening. |

Will Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 3 have bonus features and will the disc artwork for four discs be same or different? After Lionsgate releases Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 3 on DVD, what will happen then? Will Lionsgate release a complete series set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on DVD with all episodes in proper order, remastered, more bonus features?
|
Every time a new Lionsgate DVD release happens I pray for the Turtle Tips shorts.

Anyway, now all I want to see is the rear cover. |
Oh... My bad. :sweatdro: Sorry, Johnny!
Still, you know as much as we do. |
Well, that's the best cover art of the entire run.
|
Still using mediocre artists who barely know their way around photoshop, I see...
|
$19.99 is a pretty decent price for 47 episodes. It'll also likely be cheaper online.

I'll probably get this just in case I ever need to free some space up on my Turtles shelf. Other than that, can't really get too excited over this ya know?
|
Well I already have the series collection, so I'm skipping on that (still on the early season 2 episodes)
|
well i'll be getting this. the boxart looks cool
|
Wow absolutely horrid artwork for the turtles. Good job Lionsgate, why settle for quality when you can do crap.
For anyone hoping for extras or anything new, it's not gonna happen. They are simply trying to get rid of extra stock. If they didn't take the time and effort in the first place they wouldn't do it here. |
