Hot off the press.

Lock him up!

I was shocked--shocked, I say!--to see that Andrew posted this. :tlol:

What's with all the pervs being outed at once? Does this happen in batches or something? Like, the courage of one person coming out against their accusers inspires other people to finally stand up for themselves? It makes sense to me...

plastroncafe 11-02-2017 01:43 PM

There's safety in numbers.

It's actually the left and right working together for a common goal ironically enough

The #metoo campaign didn't start it but that's where it really gained steam and people speaking out

but also from places like 4chan who want to expose hollywood and their hiphopcracy and fracture the left within

I admit, I can't remember the last time starting a thread felt quite so satisfying.

Now if only people can find some old dirt on Geoff Johns...

4-Chan had to learn how to degrade people from somewhere.
And now it looks like the student has become the master.

Here's an actual picture snapped on the Twentieth Century Fox lot today of them reflecting on their decision to not let Bryan Singer direct X-Men: Dark Phoenix...

I'm sure they're thrilled they got out before this blew up, but Fox deserves some side-eye for using him this long, because allegations of this sort aren't exactly new when it comes to Bryan Singer. In fact, they probably would have kept him on had Apocalypse not been critically lambasted and dropped two hundred million in box office compared to the prior film.

Geez, dude.

If that's their goal, probably not gonna get what they want out of it.

Hiphopcracy sounds like a killer album title.

It's true. Singer was kind of done with "big films" even before this. He'd proven unable to make money with anything except X-Men movies, then Apocalypse proved he can't even do that anymore.

His Hollywood star really did sink as fast as it rose. I remember thinking "he's still around?" when he was announced to direct Days of Future Past. Guess they lose faith in you when you f*** up a Superman film that badly. Then there were the allegations, but Fox didn't seem to care about that.

plastroncafe 11-02-2017 05:16 PM

And yet we still have the Snyderverse...

Singer was still a hot-shot at least until DoFP came around. The studio gave him a lot of leeway on that one. Then he bungled Apocalypse and that confidence vanished.

dl316bh 11-02-2017 05:20 PM

I don't know about a hot-shot. He practically vanished for years after Superman Returns - I just skimmed his Wiki out of curiosity and dude hasn't been doing much but producing since the year after that film - until DoFP brought him back into the light. The leeway was likely because the guy made them a lot of money in the past and their X-Men output since him had failed miserably, rather than him having any clout. But then Apocalypse happened.

Through Justice League, sure, but even that's questionable. Sounds like they went through rigorous re-shoots, so much so I wonder if it's going to feel like a Snyder film at all. It's going to be a goddamn mess either way, but the way WB seems to be panicking and how they seem like they might be pulling back on the shared universe stuff for now, it sounds like it might be dead regardless.

No he wasn't. He'd just made "Jack the Giant Slayer" and that was a big bomb.

TheSkeletonMan939 11-02-2017 05:25 PM

I've heard accounts about his time on DoFP that showed relatively little studio meddling. "Jack the Giant Slayer" was a weird case where Warner Bros. midway through production wanted the entire film's tone changed, so Fox may have been sympathetic to him on account of that... it took a year longer to make that movie than it should have. Either way at least on X-Men the studio was confident in him, since everyone loves X2 for some reason.

dl316bh 11-02-2017 05:29 PM

Fox would sooner high-five WB over that. Their history of studio meddling is f***ing legendary.

TigerClaw 11-02-2017 05:49 PM

Let's not forget, he made Superman Returns for WB, and look how that one turned out.

CyberCubed 11-02-2017 07:53 PM

Weird thing is why is it always gay men who are raping little boys? Between Kevin Spacey and Bryan Singer, it's bizarre.
