CGI - Ninja Turtles Animation
UPDATE - FINAL URLS
Big Rip Off - Big Blow Out 2015 - Big Break In 2016 with audio With news of the new show, I'm thinking of doing something unthinkable. Going back to my original idea of animating a FULL episode of the Classic series in CG. One person, doing everything from lighting, rigging, modeling, and animation. Above is a small sample of seeing how difficult it could be. For those who missed it, we have a Technodrome scene test. Ten Years of building this model results in a final build. And, something that will be reworked, the original series intro in CGI. Second version will work on better timing. If this NEW intro attempt turns out good, I will work on the first three minutes of a show. I also added a whole bunch of development photos to flickr. Years 1999-2010 |
That's pretty cool. Show Intro Ever thought to do the second theme? Also the audio cuts out. |
Wow that is really well done. Can't wait to see you finish this. That is a lot of ambision. My hat is off to you sir.
|
Wow that really neat. :)
|
Sweet! I'm glad you are once again thinking about remaking those classic episodes.
BTW, this will teach you how to embed those Youtube videos on the forums. The rules seem to have changed recently. http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=31753 |
I'm pretty sure the dude who made those is a member here...
Neat nonetheless! |

As for the episode chosen, I can't decide between The Big Rip Off, which I tried before.....or The Big Blow Out...I think the latter would look cooler. But there are a few major mistakes that always bugged me with the first one that I'd like to go back and fix.. 'The Power is back on, but how?' How can you tell? The animators where too lazy to switch the background to a lighted one... |
Whoa, Awesome work there. hope you make some more.

'm going to need some help here to improve the April design. What could I do to get her closer looking to her toon self?In scale next to a turtle |

Also make the hair a little less red; it usually colored either brown or orange in the show. |
|
Talk about an Acid trip!

I see you also rendered some of April's pockets and jumpsuit details, as well as the clothing folds. Your overall progress has been fun to watch over these last few years. |

EDIT: or maybe egg-shaped. I can't really express it. Maybe experiment with some slightly largely eyes too, as those will benefit animation. |

Slightly Bigger Eyes...Slightly modified face. April on right has colors sampled from the first episode... |

EDIT: You might wanna add a zipper seam down the front of the jumpsuit and perhaps some seams around the shoulders. |
Whoa, thats some really amazing work. April looks pretty good, love how awesome donatello looks.

I think u did an amazing job though, really top notch work. |
The models are cool, the animation is great and the fact that you have done the intro complete is impressive.
However the actual final images you are showing us can be improved a lot by tweaking the rendering options (and maybe the lightning). Are you using Ray Tracer? Kinda looks as if the Ray Tracing option is off... |

I am using Mental Ray.. Unfortunately, I never got beyond basic rendering and lighting. These are all the standard options with nothing changed.. http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7481202_n.jpg The latest changes. Now only the arms look like they could use a tad bit of work.. Next up, getting an improved color scheme that works for the Technodrome http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...9_124403_n.jpg |
One thing on April's shoulder jumpsuit seams...
According to the model sheet, it appears the seams should be located below her shoulders rather than above them. I'm guessing it wasn't a consistent thing in the show, but I think it looks a little better like this: http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...ever_12-01.png |
