The 4kids series had a great finale. The last episode being April/Casey's wedding, all old characters came back for a cameo, and the defeat of Cyber Shredder. Turtles Forever then capping it off with an even bigger finale was icing on the cake.

Likewise Justice League had a great finale, as did all the Bruce Timm DCAU cartoons in general.

Didn't get to see the finales of either. You may be right. But I never comment on anything I'm not 100% on.

That was an awful episode.

?

"Epilogue" was a nice capper to Batman Beyond, but was just the end of JLU season 2. The actual last episode of Justice League, "Destroyer", was action packed but nothing special. Better than most finale's though.

I can't stand that episode. Such an uninspired waste of animation... >_< If I didn't have Turtles Forever to watch immediately after, I'd pretend it didn't exist.

The thing the bugs me the most about it is that this is an example of how 4KIDS would have done the whole series if not for Peter's input: horribly uninspired.

I thought that last episode of BTTS was almost univerally praised for saving that season. Only problem I would have is the Ninja Tribunal being depowered.

Other than that it was one of the best episodes of the show.

Jephael 08-24-2012 08:19 PM

I've always had mixed feelings about that episode. The plot was good, but they just didn't execute it well. I dunno why they couldn't have done that story as a 2-parter. Hell, the entire season was only 13 episodes, and most of them pertained to the Turtles rescuing Splinter from cyber space.

Um, no. You're making stuff up.

If anything "saved" that season, it would be either Hacking Stockman or Identity Crisis.

Jephael 08-24-2012 09:09 PM

I really didn't care much for "Hacking Stockman", but I loved "Identity Crisis"!

I enjoyed BTTS way more than FF, it was a huge improvement. Overall I think 2k3 got a better finale but the OT had a pretty decent one especially since not many cartoons from that era can claim that.

It's comments like this that make me think you're nothing but a troll.

You seem to dislike most of TMNT animation for some reason. I don't know what the hell you're talking about, you could read the old review thread posted from when it originally aired and it got nothing but praise.

That episode was fantastic, even with the reduced animation budget they still managed to make some fantastic fight scenes between Shredder and the Foot. Its only flaws was depowering the Ninja Tribunal.

gobo 08-25-2012 10:17 AM

I have standards. I intensely dislike uninspired programming. I loved most of the 4KIDS series, but that was the most insultingly weak episode of the bunch. Yeah, I recall a lot of people saying how awesome it was when it premiered, but that was a bunch of people I've never seen post before or since... and Raph's Girl. *facepalm* So, just because a lot of people have low standards does not make it "universally" anything. I expressed my distaste for it back then. Since you apparently chose to ignore it, I have no reason to feel bad about chewing you out right now. End of discussion.

CyberCubed 08-25-2012 10:26 AM

I see no reason to complain about an episode that tied up loose storylines, brother back almost every old character, and some good battles with Shredder and the Foot.

My only gripes were the writers seemingly forgot the Ninja Tribunal had powers and that the Justice Force was shoehorned into the end.

And I just read through the old review thread a moment ago, the majority of posters there liked it back in 2009.

EVERYONE got shoehorned in that miserable excuse of an episode! Karai didn't even have one line of dioalogue. As for the Ninja Tribunal not using their powers, maybe they didn't feel thhe need to utilize those abillities. This was Cyber Shredder and his human army, not a bunch of magic demons.

CyberCubed 08-25-2012 12:55 PM

The whole point was to have everyone in that last episode.

Jephael 08-25-2012 01:12 PM

That's no excuse for such lackluster writing!

gobo 08-25-2012 02:44 PM

Some people like ODing on clichés. I'll never understand it.

So, anyone else's episode of "Planet of the Turtleoids" have some serious artifacting during the Groundchuck fight?

Back in 2004, I honestly thought the first season release might be the only one they would release. I seem to remember that their original plan was to release The Epic Begins rather than the first 5 episodes until David Wise contacted them and advised them against such a stunt.

We've also seen Lionsgate release some incredibly cheap cover art.
They used rip-off 4Kids stock art on volumes 2, 3, 4, 6, Season 5, and Season 8.
(They even used the same Donatello image on three different covers and the same Raphael on Volumes 5 and Season 4.)
On the Season 7 set they started ripping off the 2007 movie poses.

I once thought that they were waiting so long to release Seasons 9 and 10 because they were awaiting Nick to release some new TMNT stock art for them to rip off on future DVD covers.

I did find it laughable how Lionsgate had the 2003 Splinter on one of the dvd covers. Seriously, how can you screw that up?!!

Wow, really? Which cover?
