Is wayforward developing ALL 3 versions or just the 3ds?
Hopefully its the same game with just graphical differences if so. |
Guess I'll get this on 3DS seein as I no longer have my 360 or PS3
|
WayForward is making this TMNT game. That went from a 90% chance of sucking to a 90% chance of not sucking. Now I'm actually excited to play this game.

Same company that made Double Dragon Neon? Sign me up!!!

An interview with Wayforward about the game can be found on this website.
Some designs for the game can be found on this website. Spoiler:
Activision's official website has also been updated! |

What is this feeling coming over me? I think it's... optimism! About a TMNT video game!
It's been so long... |
Have in mind people, we haven't seen too much of this and it's about a month out. First bad sign. It's releasing for $40. Second bad sign (even though that's good for us all). The third season of the tv show was optioned for cancellation at one point. That's a third bad sign, considering they probably didn't want to sink any money into it. And the final bad sign, no new gen release. If it was a top draw title, it would have definitely been released on those.
With all this being said, I hope I am very very wrong. |
Those almost seem like a plus at this point in the franchise, as it means they would be morelikely to make a nice solid oldschool style game instead of attempting Assassin's Creed but TMNT or whatever the publisher demands for a AAA title would be. And of course after demanding that, the publisher would then also demand it be out by Christmas, ending any possibility of it getting proper dev time to be good.
But yeah I'm still in the "I want this to be good but I'll believe it when I see it" camp, but Wayforward doing it makes me somewhat more on the hopeful side. |

I call bull on that.

Yeah, I'm pretty suspicious of that one. Because I'm a huge nerd, I just ran the numbers on season 1 and season 2's ratings up to Karai's Vendetta (using Wikipedia's numbers). The mean average of viewers was 2.84m in season 1 vs 2.5m in season 2 (so far).
It's dropped off a bit, but that doesn't seem anywhere near "considering cancellation" numbers. |
Wow, this looks like it could be Turtles in Time good. Hopefully even better.:tgrin:
I'm also excited they get to be 'actual ninjas' using stealth, it also seems quite balanced with exploration, stealth, fighting, countering, platforming (Hopefully not as repetitive as TMNT) and individual rewards & upgrades. Sure it will be kiddied up a bit after all it is nick but the mechanics of this game and potential gameplay look very promising. I'm not put off that it isn't available on the next Gens, Xbox 360 and PS3 are still very worthy and it's looking great graphically so far on them. Nor am I put of by the price, it's not OOTS cheap, Xbox 360 games and Ps3 games have gotten cheaper anyway due to they are now second tier behind Ps4 and Xbox One but they still make good games. Besides, as Cryomancer mentioned before PS4 and Xbox One's realism aren't really necessary for a cartoon based game that already looks crisp and clear on the PS3 and Xbox 360. It also comes out a couple of months before Christmas and makes for an affordable present for kids plus it's instantly affordable for us adults straight away. So there's a few reasons to not be put of by the price. All that matters to me is the actual gameplay and story which so far is looking damn good. The fact that they are using the 'real voice actors' is gravy. This little hint here also looks promising. Quote:

This talk of cancelling season 3 it's just ludicrous.
