Your excitement level after seeing the trailer?

Here's the trailer:

CyberCubed 03-23-2018 07:30 PM

I can't say I'm excited, but I'm interested to see how it turns out. I dunno, it's hard to grasp what the show will actually be like from a 30 second trailer.

PApagreg 03-23-2018 07:31 PM

I feel as if this thread is a bit redundant but I'm going to say 2 or 1, the animation does not look good

xChri5x 03-23-2018 08:00 PM

oh boy oh wow

BabyTurtles 03-23-2018 08:07 PM

I really like! ^_^ I was kinda wary about the animation at first, but after looking at it a few more times It kinda reminds me of Ducktales and Motorcity~

I really like the colors! so nice~

Andrew NDB 03-23-2018 08:11 PM

Still 0. But not "TMNT is dead!" It's just another TMNT show for little kids, why would I be stoked?

BabyTurtles 03-23-2018 08:17 PM

I have a question for the fans that watched the 80's version.

People say this show looks silly...but wasn't the 80's super duper silly too?
granted I only watched like 3 episodes of the 80's tmnt....so maybe I'm completely wrong....

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 03-23-2018 08:26 PM

I won't do 0, because obviously TMNT isn't dead. We should be so lucky. :trazz:

At least some of you will enjoy it, though. But I'm out. No Ninja Turtles Go for me.

Of course this show is silly like the 80s toon, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

My hype level is off the charts, cowabunga!

Yes, from the vantage point of looking back as adults, sure it is. It however had the advantage, unlike today's cartoons, of the fact that there was no huge adult fanbase yet. Sure, there were adult fans of the original comic, who may well have felt like we do now, but you figure the comic was still a smaller niche thing and the vast majority of fans in the 80s were kids. Didn't matter to most of us back then that it was silly, many 80s cartoons look that way now; TMNT is far from alone. But 21st century versions have a different kind of audience and expectations to try to live up to. What happens when you decide to pick up a long running beloved franchise...

I'm really torn. It's between 2, 3, or 4 but I HATE giving it only a two. The trailer looks okay to me. Not great, but okay. I'm still looking forward to the series to see how all this plays out.

I need this show in my life more than I'm proud to admit.

The colors, the action, the humor, and the new origins story has me already wanting more.

I hope it grows on everyone eventually.

It's hard being in the possitive minority. But at least I'll be enjoying a new Tmnt show.

Shark_Blade 03-24-2018 12:02 AM

The new tmnt show is trending worldwide on tumblr. People are getting the buzz. :D

Yes, but it didn't seem silly at all when we were 5. Which is really the point.

newfan 03-24-2018 02:11 AM

I'm not thinking TMNT is dead, not sure where to rate it, as I said on the other excitement thread, given the type of toon I think it's meant to be it will just be one that I watch with my children, though this one has more interest with it being TMNT but that's about it.

Response on the net seems to be a complete turn around from the art release.

neatoman 03-24-2018 04:52 AM

More or less the same.

The only difference is that I now know it looks OK, nothing really dissapointed or pissed me off about the trailer. Not that I had any expectations to begin with. I'm going to watch the first few episodes to see if I like, if I do I'll continue, if I don't I won't.

From the looks of it, this show seems to go for the same tone as the 2012 show. If you liked that, then I suspect your only reason to "hate" this are superficial. Concept is a little different but there's not much difference from how the 2012 show was first advertised. Remember the early trailer for that show?

In the end, there's no need to watch this show just to get a Turtles fix. IDW started publish TMNT comics a year before the first Nickelodeon TMNT show, they'll probably still publish by the time the third rolls in. I liked those comics better than the 2012 show, I'll probably like them better than this one, I'll probably like them better than the next one.

Which is why we have 35 year old toddlers defending it whenever someone dares to imply it was bad...

Vegita-San 03-24-2018 05:05 AM

Or 35 year old toddlers trashing it, on a site dedicated to it :).

I'm 100% with you here. Where us Rise of the TMNT supporters lack in number we make up in strength.

This won't fill my 2012 gap. As for toddlers, aren't we all on this site? Granted not all like the toons but a lot like one or more of them.

Eh, I'd "dedicated" is too strong of a word. More like "initially conceived to be about it". It's not exactly easy for a show like that to keep the interests of adults, especially when it got canned 22 years ago, which is why the vast majortiy of discussions around here isn't really about it anymore.

When I say "35 year toddlers", I mean behaving like a toddler. Irrational arguments, willful ignorance, patheologiacal denial of facts, trying to claim flaws aren't flaws because they're expected, equating entertainment with personal self worth, getting into fights over others peoples negative opinions, claiming victimhood, making up strawmen, pretending people expressed opinions they didn't to discredit them, bragging about pirating movies as if it's some clever way to watch a movie without spending money on it, slander people on other sites to make yourself seem more rational in comparison, acting as if you're always right even if there's evidence against it, etc.

You know, toddlerish behaviour, extreme immaturity. What is known as autism in internet slang.
