Key:
Amazon frequently has these sets for 10, 20 or even up to 30% off at times, so check the links often for good deals!
"Hard to Find" sets are available only in LEGO retail stores, shop.lego.com and usually 1 other location, which is noted above next to each set. They are not generally available elsewhere without a price markup, so plan accordingly. This info is for NA only and may not be accurate for EU customers. They are not RARE, just exclusive to certain retailers.
Figure Variants: Examine each set carefully! There are different face and body print variations on each character which vary based on the set. Just because two sets both have Raphael doesn't mean they are the exact same figure, for example.

I'm so excited for these!

Zulithe 12-03-2012 10:42 AM

So which sets are you getting :P I will be getting them all... I am both a LEGO fan (have lots of star wars, lord of the rings, super hero sets!) as well as, obviously, TMNT

If you buy every set, you will get duplicates of some of the figures, such as the turtles... however... this is not necessarily bad, because you can notice in the screenshots that, for example, donatello in the Shredder's Dragon Bike set and donatello in the Baxter Robot Rampage set have different expressions as well as different weapons (in the first he has his standard bo, in the other he has the bladed one)

So there are some advantages to getting the variants

If you bought every set you'd have two of every turtle... each with two different expressions... except for raph, of which you'd have 3 minifigures (2 having the same expression)

Oh, and technically you'd have two shredders... though one is actually the training doll :p

Anyone else agree that the LEGO Kraang brain minifigure looks better than the Playmates one? :p Probably way better build quality too

Green Machine 12-03-2012 11:45 AM

Must have them ALL!

NinjaMan 12-03-2012 07:53 PM

I'm planning on getting them all so me and my 3 year old can build them. Hmm, as for duplicates maybe I should turn one into Slash?

Drose18 12-03-2012 08:24 PM

That would be radical!

No doubt 8)

So cool my 8 year old son would love these.

Kevin G 12-04-2012 10:32 PM

I don't know why, but the Lego Kraang (brain) looks more accurate to it's TV counterpart then then the Playmates action figure.

I like how the Lego Shredder resembles the 1984 Mirage comic book Shredder.

For those who wanted April to be connected with Baxter Stockman in the 2012 series, well this is it, since you have save her in the Baxter Robot Rampage set :tlol:

and ditto, I'm excited about these as well.

Veedubguy83 12-05-2012 06:53 AM

I for one will for sure be getting them all... I LOVE LEGO and I LOVE TMNT!!! I hope they plan on expanding on the TMNT theme, they will have endless possibilities with that license!!!

I will say that I wish the actual sets themselves were a little bit better, but as far as the mini figure go, they are absolutely epic!!! I can't wait to start seeing them in the stores!!!

FoxZerro 12-05-2012 08:11 AM

Based on the Prices I could see myself eventually getting them all. But for a start the Shredder Bike and the Stealth Cycle are going to be my must haves. Gets me all the minifigs I definitely want.

LEGO has updated the listings for all 6 sets to a revised release date of December 17th, 2012.

You can order them on shop.lego.com then. Hard to say when they will be listed on amazon and other sites. I recently bought some of the new Hobbit sets on amazon about a week before they showed up on shop.lego.com but it doesn't always work that way (for example: the new Galaxy Squad LEGO theme is for sale on shop.lego.com now but not on amazon)

I have updated the OP with some more details.

NinjaMan 12-05-2012 10:42 PM

I want all of these, but if things get tight ( I got a $99 Omega Supreme on pre order due next month) is there a place I can get the figures by themselves and unopened?

You wont be able to the figures unopened, they are packaged in pieces with the rest of the sets, usually in different bags. Your best bet would be to try and find the figures on bricklink.com, alot of people will buy sets for the pieces or minifigs and then part them out that way...

Thanks I'll look into that. If you don't mind, can you let me know when you see these hit Portland? I live in Salem and it would help me keep an eye out.

pannoni1 12-06-2012 07:34 AM

This street date move is excellent as it will not only capture the last-minute holiday shopping, but also prove to be a good strategy as I heard on the radio this morning that traditional, non-electronic toys including LEGO will be nice sellers this year. Having a two-week break off from work over the holidays may tempt me into buying a playset or two, especially right after Christmas. The Shellraiser not only is the most impressive but also the lowest unit price in terms of pieces per dollar which is my first choice.

Sure thing, I usually buy all my LEGO from Fred Meyer, just because you can usually get that extra 10% Home coupon, plus they don't markup the prices.

Zulithe 12-08-2012 01:57 PM

So they changed the release date to Dec 24th now... can they make up their minds? Still hoping we'll start seeing them a little over a week from now.
