....Cause we need onna these over here too. (Curse my inability to make Sticky topics)
I'm kinda excited about New Year's Revolution. Actually, I've never watched a PPV before, this would be the first. On an interesting (or not) sidenote, I once used "New Year's Revolution" as a title for a PPV in an E-Fed that I was running or co-running. I aughta get paid royalties, dammit. |
This is probably going to be my only post in this thread but I pinned it for you! :D

Thank you, sir! -=Bows=-

Muhamad Assan rules, seriously, anyone who punches J.R is god in my book...well, that, and his gimmick is the first anti-american heel character in years to honestly be any good.

I miss the hell out of Joey Styles and Joel Gertner. They were the sh*t. Hell, everything about ECW was superior to the WWE. 'Cept maybe the women.....Every woman from ECW that I can think of (other than Lita) looked really trashy at least at some point.

Not Beaulah!
I loved Beaulah... |
That name though.....Beaulah....-=Shudders=-

Every time I think about the ECW divas my mind goes back to seeing Tommy Dreamer tombstone piledriving Francine right after yelling to the crowd, "E.C. F**kin' W!" |
Heh.
I forgot they swore alot... |
mmmmmm....beulah....ahem, anyway, has anyone seen the Rise and Fall of ECW? I want to get that. Too bad I'm poor.
I've been watching a lot of older wrestling lately cause I'm sick of seeing just WWE and I don't get the channel needed for NWA-TNA. I got the Ultimate Ric Flair collection, and I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates good wrestling. |
I recommend getting some FMW tapes on DVD. You get some great hardcore matches from the finest Japanese wrestlers. Some Americans are featured, too, like Mick Foley, Terry Funk, and Mike Awesome. Good stuff. Hyabusa was fantastic before his accident.

Check this out.
New Jack and Super Crazy may be heading to the WWE. It was reported that former ECW wrestler New Jack was at a Smackdown! show and worked out with Val Venis in the ring for a short period. He even pitched an idea to the powers-that-be that he could be the man who "stabbed" John Cena a while back. Also, the WWE has contacted Super Crazy about joining the company. Paul Heyman contacted Crazy about coming in back when he was still on the creative team. However, Crazy suffered a hand injury a few weeks ago and only wants to come in to the WWE when he feels he is 100%, wanting to make the best impression possible. It's said that the WWE is still very interested in him and are eagerly anticipating his arrival. |
Super Crazy!! I loved that guy. It was so cool when the crowd counted to ten in Spanish whenever Super Cracy climbed the turnbuckle and punched his opponent. If these rumors are true, I think it'd be awesome for him to come to Smackdown. Just imagine him in matches against Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Rob Van Dam... A new, skilled heel might just be what SD needs.

I personally don't care for Muhamad Assan. He does make valid points and I accept that, but just his attitude, I dunno. Not that I'm trying to get into a policial correctness or Arabs vs. Americans debate or anything. The Revolution PPV was pretty good except for HHH still retaining his title. Oh well, they'll prolly do more with him and his title at Wrestlemania 21.

Hunter regained the belt at New Years' Revolution, he lost the belt in December during a triple threat match between himself, Edge, and Benoit, Edge and Benoit drew with each other and the belt was vacated. Hunter is now a ten time WWE Champion, more than any other in WWE history. |
i seriously wish wreslting would get out of this slump...That need some big stars or something, but there just isnt any there. also the arab guy is a pretty good heel, but i think hogan needs to come back and whoop him to show him what a real american is! What i think would realy help wrestling is more gimicks like it was in the early 90's. I would even accept something like the attitude era because it was great. it had a mix of both gimicks and seriousness.

Err...and what DEFINES a "real american" I might add? Someone who mercilessly beats up an Arab-AMERICAN who just wants to be accepted by his own country and gets p*ssed when they chant "U.S.A" in a hyporcritical fashion? Oh, and here is some info on Cenas' new movie http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...iva/marine.jpg |
I actually watched wrestling (as in new wrestling) last night for the first time since March, when my cable went out. Yeesh, I have like NO idea about ANYTHING since Benoit won the belt, except for the fact that he lost it to Orton and HHH has it now. Man I got some catching up to do.
Thankfully, I have a big collection of tapes and DVDs to get me through. The Ric Flair Collection IS really great, but there wasn't enough of it. All the attention to the feuds with Hogan and Piper, and yet NONE of the 8,373,742 Flair/Hogan or Flair/Piper matches is on the DVD, nor are there any of his great matches with Savage. And they really should have put the match with Sting from the first Clash of the Champions before any other Sting match. Great set, but it needs a Volume 2 desperately. The Rise and Fall of ECW was indeed a great set, though you really get the sense that Paul Heyman is kind of a nitwit. Creative genius? Sure, why not. Business genius? If Paul E. ran Microsoft, we'd all be using manual typewriters and the "internet" would be two foam cups connected with a piece of string. I've never seen anyone so completely blind as to why a business venture failed. But I guess nobody likes to notice any of their faults. Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story is another DVD I highly recommend, especially for all the old Japanese matches against Liger, Sasuke etc. Great stuff. Benoit's probably the best in the game right now. Finally on the subject of DVDs, a 6-disc Hulk Hogan collection is set to come out in the Spring. Am I excited? Ohhhhhh hell yeah! :D |

hogan is my favorite all time wrestler and i dont realy care who he is beating up....that dude just whines about his problems although he is a good heel like i said. |
I think Lawler said it best when he said that it's not the fact that he's Arab-American that we hate his ass, but because he's a bonafide asshole -- figuratively speaking, of course.
