RDJ Sherlock Holmes 3 has a date!

Christmas 2020! Hard to believe it'll have been nine years since A Game of Shadows... I'm just glad to have Downey and Law back for a third caper!

Finally this development hell project gets off the ground! I do wonder what the plot would be?

Now only if we can get National Treasure finally off the ground. Teasing it for 8 years and counting!

Shark_Blade 05-08-2018 01:25 AM

Sherlock doing The Last Bow.

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 05-08-2018 08:36 AM

I'm hoping for a mix of Hound of the Baskervilles and Adventure of the Empty House, personally... but that's a long shot.

MsMarvelDuckie 05-08-2018 09:08 AM

I'd love it if they did Hound. My favorite Holmes story.

drgon78 05-08-2018 09:32 AM

I was wondering if this was going to ever happen.

Every new Iron Man movie would send me into a grumbling fit...

"Oh, sure, RDJ has time to play Iron Man a seventh time in Spiderman Homecoming, but God forbid the man do a third Sherlock Holmes movie!!!" :tlol:

Has RDJ really been the hold up? I always assumed it was Guy Ritchie busy doing his uber budgeted stuff that keeps failing.

Guy Ritchie hasn't been doing that much since 2011, has he? Man from UNCLE and the Arthur movie? Only 2 movies since...

I'm pretty sure the holdup has been RDJ. The man's been in a Marvel movie almost every year...

Avengers 2012
Iron Man 3 2013
Avengers 2 2015
Civil War 2016
Spiderman 2017
Avengers 3 2018
Avengers 4 2019

Look at that. Literally a Marvel movie every year since, except for 2014. He's definitely been the holdup. :tlol:

Sherlock Holmes has a date? Who is she?

Okay, I couldn't resist. The thread title was just begging for that one. Had to get it out.....

Awesome. I love these movies.

Shark_Blade 05-08-2018 07:44 PM

I love the theme song, very medieval/periodic feel to it.

I've been waiting for this to happen for a while. Downey Jr. absolutely nails this role and his chemistry with Jude Law is spot-on.

Sumac 05-11-2018 08:03 AM

Finally!
My favorite version of this SH version is that Watson is actually competent and cool character as opposed to usual deal, when he is either a furniture or an idiot.

Or Martin Freeman. :trazz:

I'll watch this but something about the first two Holmes movies just doesn't click with me. I think it's the camp factor, the Guy Ritchie-isms (which I love in all of his mobster movies) and this sort of... whimsy in them. I don't dislike them entirely and find them entertaining enough, but I can't help but sit there watching them constantly wishing this same cast exported into other, more serious and straight-up Holmes movies.

I think the day for straight-up period mysteries is pretty much over. :tgrumble:

Did anybody actually go see "Murder on the Orient Express?"

I did. I also did not know the twist. I put the 1976 film in the Netflix queue for after the remake was released to compare. People were upset it was not any different.

I also like RDJ's version better than Benedict Cumberbach's version.

Yeah, it made a lot of money and part 2 is already greenlit.

drgon78 05-13-2018 04:39 AM

Hopefully this one will not reveal the villain at the beginning of the movie..or even the middle.
