Issue #1 Cover Pose

Took this picture today, but forget to include the comic-con IDW/Playmates minicomic.

Am I forgetting any version of this? I know there's also the 2009 color reprint, but it's almost identical to the City at War cover.

DonatelloFan 08-08-2012 08:47 PM

Holy hell I love that new poster.

this one is inspired by it maybe

ToTheNines 08-08-2012 08:54 PM

Damn, I forgot about the Image TPB. Near impossible to find, and even then... say good bye to about 100 bucks.

Scud 08-08-2012 08:55 PM

Is that going to be the cover of issue one for the Nickolodeon comic?

Who said there was gonna be a Nick based comic?

DonatelloFan 08-08-2012 08:57 PM

They're doing ANOTHER comic line?!

It's been unofficially confirmed through Ninja Pizza through Tom Waltz that IDW will be doing a Nick Turtles tie-in comic.

However, that image is just a poster I ordered online that you could pick up at comic-con. Check ebay if you'd like one!

Ah, thanks for the info.

DonatelloFan 08-08-2012 09:06 PM

Ah, screw that. I'm hanging by a thread when it comes to the regular comics. If so, I'll most likely buy the first issue, then stop. But I am going to keep buying the Color Classics.

Genesis 08-08-2012 09:25 PM

Issue #50 and the Comic-Con poster are probably my favourite renditions of the original pose.

Plasticplayhouse 08-08-2012 11:00 PM

while i love the pose, issue's #1 & 50 are by far the best...followed by this one :D

If you're patient you can get it substantially cheaper - after buying one and getting it sketched by Frank Fosco late last year, a NM one popped up on mycomicshop for 10 bucks.

Cipher 08-11-2012 04:56 PM

It's not a comic-book cover, but the Mirage Turtles also assume the poses at the end of Turtles Forever, which I think is the only instance of it in other media.

The 2009 color reprint has an entirely recolored version of the "City at War" cover. And, while I don't own it, doesn't the IDW "Color Classics" version feature a newly colored version of the #1 cover?

Also, using it in promotions for the Nick cartoon is totally rad. Really unexpected.

Xav 08-11-2012 07:04 PM

It's being used in the intro to the Nick series.

Rooish 08-12-2012 01:52 PM

Awesome! I love these poses, but does anyone know what Raph is doing with his left leg? It doesn't seem to fit anywhere on some of the covers...

TheCanadiandrome 08-12-2012 09:40 PM

Cool pic! Love it

Don't forget my personal favorite, the cover to the fan version of TMNT #1...

Whoever that guy is, he's an incredible artist. Just amazing.
