So this Kavaxas character...

...Is basically Mr. Null voiced by Mark Hamill?

Why is this show ending again?

ToTheNines 03-18-2017 05:14 PM

He has nothing to do with Null.

CyberCubed 03-18-2017 05:50 PM

He looks more like Draco from the 2k3 series or Hot Head from the old toyline.

TigerClaw 03-18-2017 06:31 PM

Kavaxas is supposedly the Nick version of the Warrior Dragon who sometimes is called Hothead, In the TMNT Archie Comics he was an Asian fireman who can turn into a giant anthropomorphized dragon, He even became a love interest for April in that comic series.

The fact Mikey just called him Hothead on the Nick series, I think its more a throwaway reference.

***First of Two Latin Kings*** 03-18-2017 09:41 PM

Seems to me like Draco, Null, and Noi Tai Dar all rolled into one.

ToTheNines 03-19-2017 10:01 AM

I think he's the Nick version of Oyuki Mashimi.

Because we can't have nice things.

  1. The ratings flatlined in season 2
  2. Merch doesn't seem to sell anymore
  3. Reboots tend to fix such problems

Or it could be that they're airing it with absolutely no notion of a regular slot/real schedule and nobody knows it's on to watch it.

And they NEVER rerun it during the week on the main channel. Just Nicktoons, which most people don't even get.

I understand you don't want to burn kids out, but hell. If you can dedicate 8 hours a day to sponge Bob, why not share the love a little bit? It's not like the sponge is moving that much merch these days.

That and most kids shows in general kinda dropped off the face of the Earth in terms of ratings around the time Season 2 began airing due to streaming services picking up in popularity.

But geez, Nickelodeon's got a pretty broken schedule, and for some reason Cartoon Network is falling suit as well?

CyberCubed 03-19-2017 06:13 PM

The fact that this show didn't get 7 seasons is a crime.

Atleast the four seasons we got were all fantastic and the fifth might even be the best unlike the previous shows. And be thankful we're not entering another hiatus for years until the next show.

What would the Nick show do for 2 more seasons without shredder anyway? All the previous shows didn't last very long after Shredder was ultimately defeated.

FW lasted for only 16 more episodes after the final episode with Shredder as the main villain,

Next Mutation doesn't need much explaining.

The Shredder also appeared less and less towards the ends of the 4Kids show, whether it be Utrom Shredder, Cyber Shredder, Demon Shredder etc.

Once the Shredder is down, no tmnt show shall reign like it once did.

CyberCubed 03-19-2017 06:26 PM

I liked all seasons of previous shows, even the weaker ones. There were always good episodes.

True, but I am sure neither of them will be as strong overall as the last season of the Nick show, which looks pretty promising. If Ciro says its his favourite season, you know its gonna be great.

I'm under the impression that Ciro and his team had more freedom regarding season 5 if the last two eps of season 4 is any indication.

Now that I think about it, this version of Hothead also seems to have a fixation on April... just of a completely different tone.:teek:

We have a lot of dragon characters in TMNT lore. As I said before, he also reminds me of Draco from the 4kids series.

I guess all red dragons look the same.

Really, they only went 10 episodes without him, brought him back for 3, then ended the series 3 episodes later.
